I'm not technically eurasian as both my parents are white. However, there is a mystery in my family which has been bothering me for some time now. Ever since I can remember people have been asking me whether I am eurasian. I got called offensive names at school for looking oriental, but I've also had nice comments about my bone structure and being told by men who like asian women that I look Japanese. All these questions have occurred so often that I am left wondering why I look like this when both my parents are white?
Today I went on a face recognition application on myheritage.com which tells you which celebrities you look like, for a laugh. All of the results were obscure asian actresses. This sort of confirmed what I was already thinking.
All of my Dad's side of the family definitely look eurasian, with very dark eyes and high cheek bones. My grandma who looks very eurasian apparently did not know her father, and although it seems unlikely to me, maybe he could have been asian?
This has confused me for a very long time and my grandma seems to be reluctant to talk about it. I just would very much like to find out the truth about my roots, but not sure how to go about it. Any advice?

You say your parents are white, but do they happen to have any Slavic blood? There are some similarities between mixed Asians imo. Especially the farther East you get. Till you get to Kazakhstan -- which seems to be a huge country full of Eurasians (and none of whom look anything like Borat).
Then again, some people just look that way. There are full caucasian people who, when they make the effort, can be dead ringers for Eurasian, but aren't (Brook Burke comes to mind..).

Thanks for your opinions, I'm English and as far as I know have no Slavic roots, although I suppose there's always the potential as my grandma never knew her father.
Come to mention it my Mum did spend some time in Vietnam.... Only joking, due to immense similarity I'd have to say it's extremely unlikely I'm not my father's daughter, especially as he's the one with the eurasian looks, whereas my mum is blonde and blue eyed.
I don't know, it's just one of those things which has played on my mind for a long time! There was a girl at school who has a Chinese mum, and she looked almost identical to me, to the extent we were both given the same part in the school play.... again make of that what you will.
I'll try and sort out some photos, so you can make your own mind up.

All good. People in Kazakhstan all look Eurasian. Lots of people in Russia look Eurasian. No shame in that

freesixty, let's see a pic! I know there are a lot of people out there who share your "problem." A few times I embarrassed myself by asking someone if they were half, only to find out they were Irish!
This post reminds me of this woman I used to work with. She went on and on complaining about how her family would always make fun of her because she looked sort of Chinese. She was a white girl with asian looking eyes. I thought she was very beautiful, but I couldn't help but feel a bit offended when she complained about looking "Chinese," and how she absolutely hated it when people asked her if she was part Chinese.

The Face recognition sites are just pop culture ego panderer sites. you could have a mongoloid eyefold, we wouldn't know - if you want proper opinions you need to show a picture atleast.
