feel free to come here anytime, but its a bit boring though i find the maskara also boring nothing out of the ordinary only good thing is the driking its like ocoberfest for 2weeks other than that there are plenty of interesting stuff to do here like when u go out of the city. Like rainforest resorts(which is only 5% remaining of the orignal rainforest that used to cover the entire island), also nice beaches with good seafood. If wanna go for adventure u hike on an active volcano passing through inland lakes, rainforests and waterfalls well there is also a small risk of being kidnapped by communist rebels if they u know you have cash so keep low profile as much as possible and if you come from a rich family better bring fake ids with fake names with u but thats just a small risk probably around 5% chance it's nothing compared to what u will enjoy in adventure and actually its also part of the adventure.

I hiked through Mambucal to see the 7 falls, that was cool. There's some pretty butterflies and the guides (a couple of young guys) were awesome. Too bad I don't speak Ilongo because they were hilarious according to my mother. I felt totally safe the whole time, I didn't hear about the communist rebels. I had to miss out on Mt Kanlaon because it was spewing smoke at the time so they had an exclusion zone around it. I was there when the President Arroyo bribery affair came out. My boyfriend at the time kept emailing me and trying to call because he was worried about a coup. I told him that it was the Philippines not Burma

I dont think this is a traditional festival day, but rather invented by Franco, and to many, has overtones of fascism. However, it is a good way to celebrate what is unique about Spanish culture and its many contributions to the best of humanity today. In the past, we have attended lunch at the Casino Espanol when we lived in Manila.

El dia de la Hispanidad. Hmmm, it's been a long time and the last one I got involved in was back in college in the early 80s, and you hear Gustavo Adolfo Becquer's "Volveran las oscuras golondrinas: etc, etc, etc. I think it's Christmas that brings out more of the Spanish cuisine on the table because of the arroz caldo and the jamon and the leche flan for Noche Buena. I live in LA and do quite a bit of entertaining for friends (Anglo, Spaniard, Latino and Filipino) and they love our food. The Anglos like our "party" foods (pancit and lumpiang shanghai) which I tell them are the Chinese influences. It's a little difficult to to get them to have things like pinakbet or dinuguan (because of the salty bagoong or the animal blood taboo). Latinos on the other hand are just shocked that I can whip up things like caldereta, torta espanola, puchero or an estofado without a recipe book. Spaniards are amazed that we have evolved their cuisine (the Filipino ensaimada, is sweeter and more substantial than the Mallorqui original). I have a Bolivian friend who thinks our kare-kare is a subtantial version of their sopa de mani. At the end of the day, cultures will cross boundaries, and I have Latino friends who have come to enjoy puto and pancit palabok, and my half-Irish/half German brother-in-law eats sinigang na baboy con mucho gusto. That's the amazing thing about Filipino cuisine, and about being Filipino.

He looks a little like Fred Ward from Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins.

[Verse 2] I hate it when they tell us how far we came to be as if our peoples history started with slavery Painfully I discovered the sh*t they kept us secret this is the exodus like the black Jews out of Egypt I keep it reality based wit the music I make brought the truth to your face with the style I run wit like the navy missile that shot down flight 800 I'm like the Africans who came here before Colombus and from the 1500s until after the model I watch Latin America get raped in the sorrow You see the Spaniards never left despues de Colon and if you don't believe me, you can click on Univision I never seen so much racism in all of my life every program and newscast, all of them white It's like Apartheid with 10 percent ruling the rest that type of stress 'll make me put the f***ing tool to your chest Step in my way nigga, I wouldn't wanna be ya I burn slow like (a) pissing drunk with gonorrhea I'll do a freak show in North Korea, burning the flag while Jay Edgar Hoover politicians dress up in drag Try to confuse you, makin' it hard to follow this: capitalism en democracy are not synonymous You swallow propaganda like a birth control pill sellin' your soul to the eye on the back of the dollar bill But that will never be me, cause I am leavin' the past
