LOL nice video!! I would have to say the 'western' squat - it gives you more control over your balance IMO. I can't balance myself on the 'asian' squat for some reason - I don't know how that guy in the video didn't move when the DR pushed him - he should have PUSH HARDER! heh But normally if I'm picking up a coin I dropped on the floor, I kneel down to pick it up, if I'm standing around too long and fatigued, I find somewhere to park my ass. Much more comfortable

wow, the asian squat kind of cramps after a while (cant tank 1 hr for sure) I have to give in to lifting one heel off the ground
That makes it half asian-half western/EA squat (no pun intended)

I've observed my tiny little 78-year old grandma in Asia do the Asian squat all the time, while sweeping the floor, picking things up etc... ;D I, on the other hand, think I need some practice on it, because my heels have a hard time staying on the ground without me falling backwards, lol! But I think I did it as a kid, since we used to have a squatting toilet in our house in Asia (but now it's a western one)

Well squatting with your heels allows you to get up quicker, and also shuffle around. Just my opinion

I managed to do it! The 'asian squat', that is. First time ever. I've seen people do it with their legs closer together though. Or knees. Or I hope people understand what I meant by that.

I could do The Asian Squat for hours...well, maybe not hours, but a pretty long time. Actually when I'm tired of standing I do it to relieve my legs...i try not to do it out in public too much though (e.g. Bus stop) cuz of the strange looks I get.

But that's the perfect place for it. Open up a broadsheet, and get comfy.

(but only for picking up something or looking at something close to the floor, not for resting (it's still a bit uncomfortable, need more practice...))
