Seeing as you specified anything not sexually explicit, I thought immediately of Ang Lee's Lust: Caution (which is sexually explicit) - which is excellent, but clearly not what you're after!
Here's a list of some of my faves - mostly Mandarin and Hong Kong movies: Not One Less - Zhang Yimou (1999) Eat Drink Man Woman - Ang Lee (1995) A Touch of Zen - King Hu (1971) (longer than 2 hours - but brilliant) Police Story 1 - Jackie Chan (1988) Hard Boiled - John Woo (1993) Mr. Vampire - Ricky Lau (1985) In the Mood for Love - Wong Kar Wai (2000) Chungking Express - Wong Kar Wai (1994)
There's quite a range of styles and genres here, but they are all brilliant - depending on your tastes! And there's lots more besides that I could recommend.
What can you recommend?

Whoops - I missed the blood and gore bit of your post. Hard Boiled and Police Story would fit in that category.
These two are English language mini-series based in Asia Shogun - (1980) Japan The Far Pavillions - (1984) India/Afghanistan
also
Shanghai Triad - Zhang Yimou (1995) Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind - Hayao Miyazaki (1984) animation Princess Mononoke - Hayao Miyazaki (1997) animation

I'm not sure if this is under two hours but Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai"?
I second the "Princess Mononoke" recommendation, and also "Spirited Away".
I remember randomly watching a Korean movie called "Tae Guk Gi" (I think thats the spelling) about two brothers having to leave their family and fight in the war. Was a sad one but really good.

I think Seven Samurai is close to three hours, but it goes by quickly.
I'm tempted to sort by genre, but it'll start taking me too much time and deliberation. Anyway, *knuckle crack* here we go:
Korean: City of Violence Oldboy Sympathy for Mr Vengeance Lady Vengeance Attack the Gas Station Friend Acacia Joint Security Area A Tale of Two Sisters The Host
Japanese: Battle Royale Suicide Club Audition Lady Snowblood Rashomon Hana-bi Kikujiro Ichi the Killer Gozu All About Lily Chou-Chou Full Metal Yakuza Rashomon Battles Without Honor and Humanity Azumi A Snake of June Tetsuo: The Iron Man Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl Zatoichi (ok, so this one's another 3 hour movie) Good Morning Meatball Machine Bullet Ballet Uzumaki Noriko's Dinner Table Visitor Q
Chinese: Paddy already listed most of the Chinese movies that I know, but I'll add Ebola Syndrome. Also, Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer.
I don't really know that many Chinese movies =/.

Haha, I don't know if all those Takashi Miike films pass for "not too sexually explicit and not too heavy on blood and gore."
I like your taste in movies though, ChickenSoda. Ikiru is one I recommend, if you don't mind older, slower-paced movies. And a couple of really great animated movies are Millennium Actress and Tokyo Godfathers.
Any specific genre you were looking for?

Heh ok, well here's some movies you may like 1) First is Kazakh movie called "Nomad: The Warrior", the leading characters are not ethnic Kazakhs however, which was a disappointed, but the Dzungar princesses are played by Kazakhs. It's not entirely historical, but a nice watch www.youtube.com/watch?v=4f6cdxapkec(Full movie in English) 2) Also, you have Sergei Bodrov's movie - "Mongol", which by now many people have watched it... which had so many fictional elements some consider it an direct insult to Mongolian people. 3) Lastly, an upcoming Yakut film called "By Will of Chingghis Khaan", doesn't look too bad rutube.ru/tracks/542682.html?v=9982c8faddb1f43d741aa6a9a4a70f12

I liked the Once upon a time in China series John Woo films (the killer, hard boiled) infernal affairs (which inspired the departed) Ong Bak Hero/house of flying daggers
There are so many kickass Asian action movies, too many list. What I haven't seen are a lot of good Asian art/intelligent films, though I'm sure they are out there.
