implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/demo/This was a project that began with a Harvard professor years back, and I remember when it was a big buzz and appeared on NBC or some nightly special. The first quiz was the black and white one, to determine if you're subconsciously partial to black people or white people. It caused quite a stir, as many people argued its just a matter of clumsy fingers and the mind getting confused. But researchers insisted this is accurate. On the TV special, they tested it with a group of black people and white people and a couple of the black people got results saying they favored white people more. It was an utter shock and embarrassment. I thought it would be fun to take these quizzes. I took the Asian IAT and my result was the highest percentage being 24% in association of white people as being more American and Asians as being more foreign.

So did this study prove what you already know? That you're a self hating twinkie who is a traitor to their skin. I already figured you were a package deal. Nah, I kid [again]. Those results are tame compared to the subconscious associations implanted by political advertisements. I got a slight bias towards white Americans being more American. I think that had more to do with the order of presentation. Well known things that are Asian (whether celebrities or food) are either foreign born or imported. Funny, even though I might have a slight subconscious bias. My conscious bias is fairly strong. Culture in the U.S., especially when it is being portrayed as American or patriotic, is extremely white washed. I'll easily give up those national symbols to the winner-take-all system of American monoculture.

Yeah, that test in particular wasn't very useful. They weren't trying to measure how racist you are toward Asians as much as they were trying to figure out if you consider Asians to be American enough or whatnot. Well, that is racism. But not in the same sense as the other IATs. I did take the black and white one once, and the results claimed I had a slight preference for whites over blacks. I think I could have discovered that one, although the correct phrasing should be a slight dispreference for blacks (although I will probably always deny this, even to myself, like everyone else does). When they say "preference for" it makes it sound like I actually like a certain group of people. I haven't taken the Muslim-Arab IAT yet, because that would just be like me throwing you a piece of meat. I can just smell the witty remarks being prepared in your brain right now.

Sorry, I don't quip under pressure. And I don't make fart jokes if that is what you're smelling. Though recently, I have taken to making sweetfart jokes. Mullet jokes are also pretty interesting when they're in season.
