I think there was an old Chinese dude that was whispering to this other dude at the register something about me. I couldn't tell and am not completely sure of what he said since he was whispering and I don't completely understand Chinese. Well anyways, he said something about my brows looking like a "gwei". Then said a few other mean things about me looking both white and asian. And something about my big "gwei lo" eyes. Then he started scorning at me. Does he think I don't understand AT ALL what he is saying? Lawl. And hey, I know my brows are straight and they have always been straight and slanted up. They are also very well defined, naturally. You know how more Caucasians have straight or angular brows while Asians tend to have rounded or very sparse brows/brow hair that grows in all different directions? I felt so insulted at what he said! It's like he hates people like us. So have any of you guys met any nasty people who are racist towards mixed race people? =/ I am about to cry.... .... ... .. Just kidding. That dude was a jerk anyways, why ponder over such nonsense? And plus...who the hell really comments on a person's brows? Mine looks normal to me. ;D

No most of the racism has been because the person thought I was full Asian or Hispanic/Amerindian, and they don't like them. Don't think I've ever had hostility because I'm a mixed Eurasian.

Haven't posted on this forum in quite a while, but anyways i haven't really had anyone said anything thing negative about me when they assumed that i wasn't full chinese, but i have had Chinese people in TW talk in mandarin about me right next to me as if i didn't understand what they were saying. The only time i recalled was maybe when i was playing a pickup game at a local school in TW and i heard some old man say something about me referring "the wai guo nen "foreigner" sucks at basketball and how chinese plp are way better and other things of that sort. But i don't really pay that much attention to what people think of me or say about me especially when its someone who i really don't know.
But i find it very funny how someone would comment on a person's brow and features, especially coming from a person who may not necessarily have the "PERFECT" brow (whatever that is). And Yes your brow looks perfectly normal.
I think i have heard from both my parents that the Chinese don't really think highly of people of people with partial western ancestry, but i think there is a name for it that they call people who are mix or with people western ancestries, i just can't recall what it was, but from all i can remember, it wasn't a very nice word. But i think if there are any of these types of people left, it might only be the older generations.

Lol I guess some older people do have that "Asian Pride to the max" thing going on. But that was seriously insulting. Isn't it annoying when people talk about you negatively when they don't even know you? Isn't it EVEN MORE annoying if they assume that you won't understand so they talk behind your back right in front of you?

^the best thing to deal with nonsense coming out of complete strangers' mouths is not to listen to it and not to take it to heart. Why should their opinion be of any importance to you anyways? You randomly bump into each other once, but never see each other again. It's the people that are around you and that care for you that matter, forget about the rest

I've gone to some dim sum places in San Francisco in the morning and gotten some pretty hard, wtf stares from the elderly folk. I don't know if that qualifies as "aggressive", but it tweren't friendly, either. I've also occasionally gotten the same kind of looks from white people in different places. People are a-holes.

Ya I was at Burger King yesterday and iono what is wrong with some of those people that work there. That girl gave me a weird attitude right when she saw me (and a nasty look too) and before there was this guy who kept staring at me and wouldn't take his eyes off! It was so creepy..he looked like he wanted to kill me or something. Next time I'll go to McDonald's, they have cheaper burgers/fries that I like more anyways!
ya some people are such a-holes. =/

It has not necessarily something to do with you being Eurasian, he may have thought you were pretty, some people need to stare beautiful women.
Last month, I was in Turino with my blonde (important detail in the peninsula) Italian girlfriend and so many guys kept staring at her even when I was on her side, they didn't give a damn !

No, only aggressive behaviour I've received is from white people "bloody foreigner" types who think I'm Chinese.

By and large there has been no aggressive behavior to me only some impatience when I fumble around trying to speak cantonese which I dont appreciate then I am the one who gets aggressive! lol!

I understand what you are saying. Although people rarely ever point me out as being asian or eurasian I also have experience strange remarks about my looks both direct and indirect. And from all kinds of people asian, euro, black ++ The worst thing is when Asian or Euro mothers of eurasian kids (like myself) hear that I also am eurasian look at me in a strange way and say that Im different than their kids! Like I have the "wrong" look or something. I know they dont have bad intentions, but its kind of hurtful in a way. Hard to explain.... Some things people say in general, personal remarks and commenting ones looks seems a bit unneccessary and itsnt really OK to say to somebody you dont know! But some people dont think before they talk, unfortunately

But some people dont think before they talk, unfortunately I tend to get disgusted looks from other EAs and their parents because they are disappointed to see that there really is a such thing as an ugly Eurasian. They were probably firm believers that being Eurasian ensures being beautiful but then I come along to burst the bubble. That's what they get for believing in stereotypes. Hehehe I know Asians in Asia might be more likely to be aggressive toward EAs but here in the States my experience has almost always been positive or neutral (meaning they simply don't care) once they realize I'm Eurasian. Probably because they are happy for once to see someone who looks even distantly similar to them in this overwhelmingly white state, even if the person is only 1/4 or 1/2 Asian.
