The article by Amy Chua in the Wall Street Journal that ignited a firestorm online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704111504576059713528698754.htmlIncidentally her kids are EA. I'm sure some people here can relate, but I would say I only got a very mild version of this (plus my mother wasn't the Chinese one) - no video game consoles until high school (but countless hours lost playing Red Baron or Civilization in the meantime), violin lessons but only very mild encouragement to practice (and later allowed to play electric guitar), high academic standards through positive reinforcement and nurturing rather than threats (I was "allowed" to get less than an A or be less than top of the class). Anyway, curious to hear your thoughts
