I'm quite convinced that it's not. Maybe it would have been at one point, but as things stand, there's nothing here worth picking up an M-16 over and hasn't been since the year 2000.
Meanwhile, our way of life is under daily attack from currency speculators and the government doesn't take seriously. The Bush administration has clearly sold us out to foreign banking interests who are the only ones who really stand to benefit from current policy.

USA has every right to defend itself from those it deems hostile and threatening to itself, except that it has a habit of doing it mostly on foreign countries and messing them up in the process. You need to realize that those are just the payments that the U.S. owes to its foreign creditors and suppliers. China is but one country which managed to amass enough money by selling tons of cheaper goods and services to the U.S. and reinvest much of it in the U.S. financial markets. We should be actually thankful that China and other foreign investors still have enough faith in the value and stability of its currency (dolloar) to leave those in the U.S. without withdrawing - which will almost certainly cripple the U.S. economy, if not bankrupt it.

Good points EAO. America isnt going anywhere we have too much influence and we will defeat all man no matter what..The whole world will bow to our might. In all seriousness i would defend my country and way of life no matter what in the name of my grandfathers who fought for this country, for the friends and family who are fighting and lost their lives in Iraq, for my cousin who died on 9/11.

Well, now it is not in China's best interest to allow the U.S. to go under. After all, the U.S. is its biggest buyer of goods, and the country that has the highest trade deficit with China. If the U.S. goes into an economic depression, it will take the whole world with it, including China.

I had to re-read that So your a typical foreigner who propably thinks everyone here supports Bush and judges a nation of 300+ million people by what their government does or by what she sees on tv or experiences by a few unruly americans in her country. Please take a seat, my comment was a joke ok. I'm disillusioned. He's delusional. Take a seat your done. Unless you care to explain why you feel this nation full of good people of all races and mixtures who have made this country what it is isnt worth defending.

Yes, it is.
It is my home. My family lives here. My friends. My life.
Is YOUR country somehow better/worth defending?
People usually hate for one (or both) of two reasons.... 1) Jealousy 2) Ignorance
What's your poison?

They live in Afghanistan and see their grandma engulfed in flames from a US bombed a target that they thought was a terrorist one 4. They live in Iraq and see their grandmothers engulfed in flames from a US bombed a target which they thought was a terrorist one 5. They live in Vietnam and work in a US corporate owned sweat shop where they work 16 hours a day 6. They live in South America, under a fascist regime that was propped up by Regan. 7. They live in Africa and get random drugs tested on them by American pharmaceuticals. 8. They live in Africa and see US Presidents wanting to help poor people...who for some reason only live in the Middle East and nowhere else in the world 9. They hate retarded Americans who think that there are good guys and bad guys in the world, and that the US has not killed one innocent person. 10. They have the US telling them to cut their pollution which is helping their country rise from the ashes, while the US continues to be the top polluter in the world You're right. There are zero reasons to hate America. If my grandmother got engulfed in flames because my home was falsely targeted as a terrorist training ground, I should thank the US for their presence in the region and thank them for murdering...i mean destroying my family members as collateral damage.

The question was "Is America worth defending from terrorists".
I gave my opinion.
The question was not, as you stated "Reasons for hating America"
Stay on topic. You lose.
Edit: And welcome back.

"People usually hate for one (or both) of two reasons...." You stated people hate us for two reasons. Reread your own post Apparently, if your grandmother was engulfed in flames by an American bomb, you are jealous and ignorant if you hate America for that. But I guess anger towards a country that kills your family is just ignorance and jealousy by your logic...oh wait, that's what Americans felt when 3K died in 9/11. I guess to you, 9/11 families are ignorant and jealous.

I see you got confused by my post.
Let me try again.
The original question was....Is America worth defending from terrorists? I gave my reasons that it is, from a personal viewpoint. Not mentioning foreign policy, which the average American has little to no control over. My family is worth defending, and any threat to their safety would be worth defending, in my opinion, as would the safety of anybody's family, regardless of where they live.
I made the assumption, which I admit, could be incorrect, that the original poster pretty much felt it would be ok for the US to get blown to hell by a terrorist. I mean heck, why defend something that is now worthless, in that person's opinion?
Again, with that in mind, I pointed out MY reasons why I answered America IS worth defending. Her people.
I then went on to say that I felt a post like this was mostly hatorade against the USA, and generally speaking, hate comes from jealousy and/or ignorance.....so I quite logically asked if this person might just have some issues besides intelligence that need a bit of hashing out. This relates to internet tough guy kinda hate....you know, the kind where little to no ACTUAL harm has been done. Just tough guy pseudo-intellectual hate.
Realistically.....imagine the outcry if you inserted ANY other country in the thread title besides the USA.
I defended my home.
You.....well you just are you.
Unable to see outside your own basement.

Outside my own basement is a country in economic and moral stagnation.

economic....no
moral.......depends on which moral compass you are reading.
Hollyweird would say everything is a-ok. Televangelist lying douchebag right wing hypocrites would agree.
I think it's somewhere in between. And up to the American family to reclaim.
