Not as bad as the groups that block escalators

Wow, so herding of people in the middle of isles in stores goes on in Australia too? i thought it was only us americans that were famous for the blocking of traffic through stores.

It's nice to see you all agree with me. I'm sorry about changing the topic but the comments made by Jeymi just released a deep seeded sense of frustration. Thankyou nikki and 1984, I guess other people have noticed human stupidity as well.

In the end sometimes it does come down to asian mothers..milling round.
Have you ever noticed when they shop they stop and gossip in a big group about how great their kids are doinf and how my kids are better/smarter than yours. I suppose all mothers are like that.
Do they actually think its a tea party in the middle of the supermarket.

My mom used to talk about me with her friends and laugh, while I was there -- when I was 13 or 14.
My mom used to dress me funny. Now I dress me funny.
My mom likes to point out that stuff isn't fresh at like Panda Express or other fast food buffet kind of places; loudly. No s***, ma. That crap has been sitting in a chafing dish for a good part of the day.

Damn why do people always have to talk about you as if you werent there.
Why do mum's always have to say embarrassing things other people.
And i love how they have to proclaim really loudly how expensive everything is in the store.

Valid point jeymi, I would have to say that loud obvious comments do not help the situation at all. Rather than causing the price of the product to go down, the only thing achieved by such behaviour is embarrassment. If someone is not happy with something, they should shop arround. By making a scene a person is only bringing in unwanted attention and it is usually the people with them who feel the sense of shame.

I know of other Asians who've lived in the U.S./a western country for 35+ years and they still a bunch of SILLY FOBs!!! It's like some retain certain traits more than others. Though, Asian women married to White men may retain them a bit less and/or if they were exposed to a lot of foreigners when younger. Malaysians and Singaporeans seem to have milder accents vs. Viets, Thais, Filipinos, Japanese, and Taiwanese. Now, I know many Malays/Singaporeans who have the most annoying accents ever...

And i love how they have to proclaim really loudly how expensive everything is in the store. Yeah, like the time my mom said, "Payless Shoes is not "payless", really loudly so all the staff could hear.

And don't you love the people who stand right smack in the middle of the sidewalk or in the middle of the mall where people are trying to walk to actually get somewhere? Standing there consulting their maps, or yaking on their cellphones, or just plain out standing there doing absolutely nothing. It's so NOT hard to walk to the side when you're slowing down traffic. They seriously bother me... The ultimate is having a smoker walk infront of you and let their cigarette smoke drift. *$!% $*#@! I take detours which are twice the distances sometimes or put a new meaning to SPEED WALK, whenever this comes up. Damn it, quit polluting the rest of the world.

My mom isn't embarassing. She's nice to me.
I think my dad is the one who is embarassing. I guess the best way to describe it is that he doesn't care about his appearance. Also he cusses in public and he yells a lot in the store. Sometimes I just want to hide in some corner of the store or run out.

I can probably say the same about my father too, he does care about his appearance, but when we're in a store or something, he's really loud and he swears, I haven't had to deal with it lately though because I hardly see either of my parents.

I'm sure your father will mellow out with age, soon he will be the image of kindness when he looks after your children. He will become the nice old grandfather that everyone admires and respects. Just hang in there, it will happen eventually!
