Do you ever wish you were MORE mixed? I have.
In other words, having a greater ancestral variety.
Being EA, I have Chinese and European ancestry (with a little middle eastern blood somewheren down the line too). Although I'm already satisfied with being bi-racial, I've always imagined a better future when human beings completely reach the stage of miscegnation and everyone has everything 'in them'. What I mean is that I would rather be less racially bland - all I am missing from me now is Indian, African, Native American, Polynesian and Melanesian, if I were to be a true 'person of the world'.
I don't know what u guys think but I think it would be great to be composed of many other races/ethnicities.

I've actually thought of adopting kids to avoid this from happening. :S

I suppose it could be "cool" from an oddity/conversation standpoint but it could also lead to a certain amount of homogeny where strong cultural roots of any kind are missing. I think that is one of the issues facing alot of Americans and has fueled the new age movement and other things here. New traditions have been created but for alot of people, meaning whites who have generationally been here a long time, there is a strong sense of identity lacking. This isn't something I 've seen in the Northeast areas as much where the majority have stronger ethnic identities due to many recent immigrations from family members. I think when it's all in little elements it can make a cool appearance but if there is no family tradition or "ways" it can create more pressure on the individual to find themselves or at least makes identity more challenging, Of course the more shallow won't really care and will probably just exploit the exotic factor

Nope, I've never wished to be more mixed. I've often wished to be less mixed though, to be full Asian and get rid of that pesky white lineage. I don't feel like that anymore though. I'm glad that I'm not more mixed than I am because I doubt I would have felt quite as connected to all my individual roots had I been.

I kinda feel the same with the rest, don't really wish to be more mixed not that its a bad thing. I think now it might be easier to be more mixed than perhaps the 70's and 80's when most of us grew up. Though I appreciate my heritage now, I also used to wish to be just one heritage and be able to fully identify with that one.

Well being asian/white, I always thought I'd be cool if I married a black/latin girl and we'd have asian/white/black/latin kids. It'd be a b*tch to fill out those bubble forms though where it asks your race and says "please fill in one only."

I'd love to be more mixed. It's more modern to have multiple ethnicities. I wouldn't mind a dash of Indian/South Asian or African in my blood. But why do you want to be more mixed though?

Yeah, I feel like this too but probably because I spend lots of time in all different parts of Asia and no matter how fluent you are in the language, how 'Asian' you dress or how much you know/integrate with the culture, most Asians will almost always see you as completely and eternally foreign. It would be interesting to be 'completely mixed' but I already have that 'where do I REALLY belong?' feeling and being from so many different races and not fully accepted in any would be rather frustrating.

I'm not exacltly sure... but it's like being asked if you'd like to be taller. We intrinsically know it's good to be tall. Being more mixed may open more doors, globally speaking (having family in different countries, inate interest in different cultures etc). I see what you mean now and I feel you on that.Being born into a culture/race is a lot different than having a general interest in it true.Your already mixed though, so i imagine youll experience things the average person wont eh.

^Back at the orginal poster. If your really mixed what is your agenda to the world. My agenda is I know who I am. I wish not to be a plaything for others. We have Eurasians West and East knocking on nation states for supremacy old and new. They are knocking and howling like wolves ready for supremacy.

In a way I wish I was more mixed, so that I could know more languages as a kid. Unfortunately I was just taught 2 out of 3 possible for my mix....
