Wog? Polywogs? Is there some connection between tadpoles and Italians? Haha.., polywogs 'Wogs' was a derogatory term commonly used to describe Greeks, Italians, Maltese etc when they migrated to Australia in large numbers for work and such. Its has now lost its derogatory label.

^Idk funnily enough we were discussing it in English a couple of years ago and my teacher said she has some friends (who are Italian,Greek etc) who find being called a wog offensive. I guess they're probably in the older generation though because a lot of them who are my age aren't offended by it at all.
in answer to your question I live in an area where there's a few of them but they don't dominate the whole area lol there's more anglo saxon aussies, Indians and Sri Lankans than Greeks. However , there's a number of them in the area in which I go to school though....I honestly reckon I get mistaken for being one because of my dark hair and features not cos of the area i live in

I thought 'wog' was a derogatory term for black people, as in 'golliwog'?

^ No, the Aussie version of a chav is what we call lads and lasses. They wear nautica polo shirts, nike shoes, do graffiti and mostly live in the inner west of sydney. They're pretty derro. Derro is another thing Aussies say that is short for derelict.

Wog is slang for Aussie Greeks and Italians. Here is a picture of a famous Aussie wog:

Not really, either then "Eurasian" "Halfbreed" "Mixie", etc
But to be honest, a minority of Anglo Australians I've met have inspired me to be proud about our multi-cultural society to say "Everyone is a mix of everything these days, who gives the flying f--k where you're from, we're all Aussie mate"
Heh just wish one day it becomes the majority who inspires me not the minority.

you know you are eurasian when your skin is really fair and you look oriental and people always take a second look at you (and you pretend that you do not feel like an alien)

In Australia, I use and hear halfy a lot... also bogan isn't really the equivalent of a chav, here, they are called lads and are the exact same thing.

Nothing wrong with it, but I sense it in your grammar. Cute. hehe
