www.physorg.com/news153515189.htmlThis article indicates that social and personal well being is more positive among people o fmixed race, than those from a single race origin - what do you think? What is your experience? Are we on to something?

Are you going to ban me? What did I do this time? I haven't posted here in over 1/2 year. There was never anything wrong. People were being mean to me and the old admins said I posted too much already. try and learn from your experience. No mod wants to be a babysitter. Don't flood the forum and we'll see how it goes.

Where do you live? HA HA! I'm just kidding... Ha, ha, ha. I'm having difficulty understanding your post. Anyway, well in my opinion (having been through school as a mixed race person) I actually found that article intriguing because I can relate and agree to it quite well. Since I started (high) school, I've seen the racial groups form and well in a weird way, avoid each other. But my group has always been mixed (group of people from different racial backgrounds, and well one other halfie girl) and we are still best of friends even after we graduated last year. I think its not the genetics that make you more happier, it could just be your perception on life that has been shaped because you hang around different people/you are a mixed person. Or... What I just said, also did not make sense. YOU have the power to make that CHANGE!

In tandem with my deep embrace of mulitcultural and multiracial experiences and opportunities I also have to actively and incessantly endeavor to fight off my suicidal and antisocial tendencies.

Jefe - You've lived more and have more to live for than nearly anyone else I know! As for being anti-social, join the club! I've become (always was) a toad myself.... I don't believe for a second you're anti-social when you're with friends and I've seen you in your moment before. Anyways, let's do another HK meet soon... or better yet, do an EAN diving meet in Bali this summer - or - a hike up Mt Kinabalu. ? ? ? That would be awesome!

This just goes to show that so far, I have been able to keep my suicidal and antisocial tendencies at bay. Esp. as an adolescent, I felt that race and culture were an insurmountable obstacle and handicap for me, and I STILL often feel that way -- so I am constantly trying to figure out how to handle it. I do believe that there are more productive ways of handling it rather than, say, go off the deep end like those massacres at universities. rob - yes, I did plug some 680+ locations on my "been to" Tripadvisor map, but I think that half of those spots are along the East Coast USA which I traipsed up and down several dozen times -- I don't think Bladensburg, Maryland and Freehold, NJ are key travel destinations. I still have yet to see the exotic places like Mongolia and the Central Asia Republics. BTW, I go diving / snorkelling in HK all year round. We can do that in HK as well. If only one of our members had a boat!

I still have yet to see the exotic places like Mongolia and the Central Asia Republics. Well, I've been to the same 4 places 680 times without leaving the office! For me, a trip to see small, non-descript town USA would be a dream....... if had a mustang convertible and a tent trailer filled with maps, junk food and jerky! I would kill to have seen 1/5th of the places you've seen! BTW, I go diving / snorkelling in HK all year round. We can do that in HK as well. If only one of our members had a boat! Well, we can always rent a junk. You diving dudes can get your fix underwater taking pictures of rocks and i'll finish the beer

Actually, many of the dive boats which go to offshore islands allow anybody to ride the boat whether they are divers or not. The cost would not be any more than renting a junk -- even cheaper if you do not have many people (Junks have fixed costs -- dividing the costs up could be expensive if you have few people). They could go to a place where people can swim to the beach or climb the rocks. Certified divers could go diving; non-certified divers can go snorkelling or try out a "discovery scuba" experience -- choices are available. Indeed, I am going diving tomorrow on a boat, and the cost (including 2-3 tank dives) will be less than the last time I took a junk and split the costs among everyone. <> Sorry, I am getting off topic.

In tandem with my deep embrace of mulitcultural and multiracial experiences and opportunities I also have to actively and incessantly endeavor to fight off my suicidal and antisocial tendencies. It's none of my business but I wonder if having your own family (not necessarily involving being married and biological children) wouldn't help alleviating these feelings? I remember three years ago, I would wake up some mornings and seriously question if this existence was even worth living. At that time I hadn't seen my family for nearly a year, I had recently moved to a different city leaving (once again) my friends behind. I since learned that having people you're happy to see everyday gives purpose, modern life is afflicted by materialism and existentialism. Thank god, friends, partners or family are there to support.
