well, the dressing is kinda stuck to my skin so im afraid to try to remove it any further. i'll take a photo of my stitches once i manage to get the damn thing off. anyway, my leg is swollen to the size of a tree trunk and here is a photo of a piece of the wood extracted from my leg. it's like a splinter... on steroids. lots of steroids. this one is a little over two inches long. you can't see it from the photo but there are little bits and pieces of my flesh / skin / whatever and it's all red / soaked in blood. my friend broke the other 4 inches of this piece in a failed attempt to pull it out / remove it from my leg prior to me going to the ER. we tried getting it out in the woods but eh, that didnt work. and then we went and bought tweezers / some hydrogen peroxide to try to yank it out in a parking lot outside the store but eh, no luck. so yeah. anyway, more pics later! ^ Celltocell - really sorry to see/hear that..... hope you recover quickly.... that's the meanest 'sliver' I've ever seen and can't imagine how that happened.
----------------------------
Separately, on my end of things
Hit: I'm camped out in Mongolia starting next week and managed to organize a street hockey game for Tuesday night and a soccer game for Wednesday night. Last place I expected to pull this off...... should be alot of fun and I got most of the embassies roped in for some additional rivalry/competition.
Sh*t: Might be some protests (have presidential elections) that interrupt the game, but that ain't so bad.

^ awesome, sounds like a lot of fun as for my hiking incident, thank you but i'm not even worried about it ... i just thought the entire situation i found myself in was hilarious. you just had to be there. i honestly do not really know how that happened either, i remember seeing a tree branch.....and then i remember walking past it [was walking down the path and stepped down on a rock]........next thing you know i felt something stinging me and found myself just kicking a tree branch off my leg. and voila... found myself with wood sticking out of my leg

Sh*t: Someone broke into my Mustang and tried to steal it.
Hit: They did a pro job and didn't break anything and the battery was stone cold dead.

hit: went hiking AGAIN today. did not get stabbed by tree branches sh/t: just noticed a TICK in my leg an hour ago. didnt REALIZE it was a tick, thought it was a BEAUTY MARK and kinda of scratched at it. bad idea...people tell you to remove ticks CAREFULLY with tweezers...
so there is a good chance that some of the tick may be in me still. i may have lyme disease or some other illness now. god forbid, im extremely paranoid and will have to go visit the doctor...again. oh yeah, i dont have health insurance.
good grief. wtf, my friend was wearing shorts and nothing happened to em. i was wearing pants!

Take a closer look into your leg, if you don't see anything, the tick is gone. Apparently rubbing olive oil in the wound kills the tick (doctor told me this) assuming there is still a wound, regardless, I would still consult a doctor to be sure.
