Surprised to see this thread made by a dude Seemed to be a topic that EAN would find interesting so I made the thread. Plus, I'm very comfortable with my sexuality, so posting a male list isn't going to somehow make me a homosexual, which is a mindframe that a lot of insecure guys out there have (not talking about you specifically, just generalising now). George Clooney is f*cking ugly and disgusting. Sorry, I simply dislike him ^I think it's fair to say that he's a good-looking man, but that like Tom Cruise, the individual persona (or how they portray themselves to be in public) can be off-putting for a number of women, and this consequently affects their looks in a negative way. Peep the corresponding thread on, 'unattractive partners', in the relationships section for similar posts that others have made regarding personality and how this can affect looks in both a positive and negative light. Where was Steve McQueen on that list?? And Antonio Banderas? I'd have had Virgo Mortensen on the list too (poet and photographer). I wonder how Hugh Jackman found his way to the top of this list? And James Dean didn't exactly participate in the movie industry for a long time, though granted, his influence might be said to have been lasting. And Bruce Willis - surely not top 20. ^When you consider the number of actors in hollywood history, some people are going to miss the list, and so it can't satisfy everyone's opinion, hence criticism is welcome and is probably the underlying point of the show. Keep in mind that this is a list made by Aussies, so perhaps the films of those guys that you felt were hard done by didn't have much of an influence in this country - I wouldn't know. Mortensen - they were just the men purely as actors, so his poetry and photography wouldn't have been considered. I just read that he's an actor from The Lord of the Rings, so you may have a case, but then I guess it's up to women to decide if he's, 'hot'. Jackman - it's an Australian show so it's not surprising they chose an Australian to be #1. Biased? Surely not! Dean - The commentators spoke about his everlasting influence (first rebellious character that teenagers idolised) despite making just the 3 films. Have you noticed that, aside from denzel and johnny (who barely counts) non-whites are strikingly under-represented?? Oh and zac efron is wayyyy too effeminate to be on that list, the guy a bubblegum pin up for tween girls.. No grown woman is going to find him hot! Well these days thats unless you're a ninth grade teacher :X My favs on that list are Johnny Depp, Sean Connery, Denzel Washington and Richard Gere Least favs are Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig and Tom Cruise Regarding ethnicity, it's not surprising, given hollywood used to be a white-washed arena and still is to some degree today. Having said that, much has improved in terms of different ethnicities breaking through to the forefront of the mainstream in recent times. The number 1 bankable actor in the world in recent years is Will Smith, an African-American (his filmography/gross revenue is crazy), and you can argue that he would've easily been worthy of the list. Also, keep in mind that this is an Australian-made list, and our country is far, far more white-washed in the media than the USA is. Efron - as I mentioned in the OP, he was a special guest commentator on the show, so him making the list along with Jackman being number one, were probably the two instances of bias in the episode. Cruise - would you say the reason that he's your least fave is because of his antics over the last couple of years that have subsequently ruined his physical attraction for you? Before such antics, I used to observe many women constantly drooling over him, and fair enough - his movies are massive and anyone can see he is a looker. Then came the women being turned off by him after his recent behaviour, which I can fully understand. From memory, many of the comments during the show regarding Cruise were in relation to his earlier days (Top Gun, Jerry Maguire, Mission Impossible?).
