I really wish I'm not insomniac anymore or being late night sleeper. here at 1:27 am, I have been trying to sleep for one hour in bed, but I usually get sleepy 2 AM, which is not good thing because I must wake up at 6 am in the morning but again, this might also happens because I took nap too much today (about 4 hours during the day, and one more hour around 6 pm). anyone get tips getting rid of insomnia or sleeping disorder?

dont nap throughout the day, only sleep at night when you are most tired and you'll sleep like a log

I read a very boring, uninteresting book to bore myself to sleep while listening to romantic, slow-paced music.

Watch the English Patient. It has put plenty of people to sleep. Or take some cough medicine.

this happens because I took nap too much today (about 4 hours during the day, and one more hour around 6 pm). ^I edited your post for accuracy. If you nap less (or better yet, don't nap at all), you will sleep much easier at night. The things people are posting in this thread are unlikely to work if you have napped during the day, especially for the length of time that you say you are napping for.

Yeah no amount of wanking is going to make up for 5 hours of napping.

Well, Valerian Root supplements works sometimes. But it smells horrendous. I would take sleeping pills as long as you allow yourself enough time to wake up in the morning because they make you drowsy. Other than that, you could try to watch MTV's The Hills or some other show that makes you lose brain cells.

I had problems with insomnia to the point where I would only fall asleep like 1 hr b4 I had to get ready for school/work. I think what makes it worse is when u start stressing about how your not getting sleep cause it just makes u angry and annoyed. I would say try not to think about it, but that never worked for me. Even "wanking" didn't help.
Nowadays I fall asleep pretty easily and its usually cause its not planned. Just going to bed and closing my eyes doesnt work so I just lay down and use my laptop or watch tv till I get tired.

what do i do when i can't sleep? i either stay awake and read something 90% of the time or text a fellow insomniac / friend / person i know would most likely be awake during that hour and go out and do something random / hang out. that's pretty much 5% of the time. the other 5% is everything else.

also, if it's really that bad... you might wanna use melatonin. it's a natural sleeping pill.

I do something productive so as to not feel guilty about the wasted time- then fight it out the next day half asleep, then sleep like a log the next night.
Not drinking caffeine past 6pm works for me in terms of a good night's sleep.
