btw, has anyone else gotten the comment from people: "Why is your hair so dark when you're mixed?" (how to respond to that question? lol...) Hmmm... I remember walking into a shop and the Filipino hair stylist going "Holy f**k, your hair is black!". This was after I stopped using gels or hair care products with alcohol--which tend to bleach my hair at the tips. It doesn't help that my mom looks like Marisa Monte. So I have a hybrid mix of black curly Portuguese hair with straight black Asian hair. Black on black.

My boyfriend's family happens to be from Portugal, with a bit of Italian. =)

btw, has anyone else gotten the comment from people: "Why is your hair so dark when you're mixed?" (how to respond to that question? lol...) Genetics lol. Even fully white people don't ALL have light hair. And even if one of your parents happen to have light hair, that doesn't mean you will get light hair. Light hair is rarer than dark haired Eurasians since the "dark" or "Asian" genes tend to dominate. I have never seen a blonde 50/50 eurasian before that is grown up. My little cousin has light brown hair but it may darken as she gets older. =) Correct me if im wrong. yeah I think that's right... ^^ people usually give that comment since they're expecting a person of a light haired (eg. scandinavian) and a black haired person to have a "mix" of those colors, which would be brown... like, most of the half white-half black mixed people I see tend to have brown hair. it makes me wonder why they have brown hair while I as an asian/white mix have blackish hair. (but I love my hair, wouldn't trade it for anything)

Dont know... Its a colour inbetween mum and dads hair, dark brown? Rather straight and thick as hell! Hair dresser said I had caucasian hair, before she knew I was half asian. But then again some other person said my hair looked more asian. So its not easy to say A mix of both then?

most of my eurasian cousins (dutch-chinese) and relatives had red hair during toddlers, and eventually turned into black by time.

^ Are you f--king serious?!
I had thought this was only a northern Turanian (Turk/Mongol/Siberic) trait. Unfortunately my red-hair persisted until puberty unlike others, some even keep it. I hated it because I've always been treated as if I was some sort of f--ked up abomination in Australia while I know if I was born in Mongolia for instance I would be accepted as normal.
Amongst Turanians in the East genetic drifting is the cause of such traits while the further Westward it's that as well as intermixing. I'm surprised a Dutch-Sino mixture with no Turanid ancestry has this trait of juvenile light hair.

my hair looks quite Asian now, but it's artificial I've dyed it jet black and have been using keratin straightening treatments for about a year.I used to think my hair grew very slowly. But that was while I still used hot irons. Naturally, my hair is medium brown, very curly, "corkscrew" textured, coarse and super thick. I've noticed every hair stylist I've gone to has made a comment like " Black and Filipino is such a cute mix" So I'm thinking that's what they assume I am based on my hair texture lol.

I had a long summer holiday and been working and stuff. Back to the subject: Many people ask me whether this (my own colour) is my real haircolour:P Cause its so dark?

my hair is light brown, but it's real thin. Most Koreans I know have real thick hair, so I guess it's both.
My facial hair is weird though. If I let it grow, it only grows on the chin and my mustache gets hella long, everything else is spotchy, but the chin will have mixed brown/red hairs kinda like I dyed it or something
