^ i believe the man!
-----------
as for me (in no particular order)
Passions
1. laughter 2. music 3. making people happy 4. maximizing what little time i have left (and invariably spreading myself way too thin between so many competing interests)
What am I doing about it
1. comes naturally. unless i'm stressed out from work (most times i come to EAN) i'm usually prone to random snickers as all the crazy thoughts enter my head...... very few of which I share with anyone and simply look stupid cackling away by myself.
2. I play a few instruments, none really well, but I have decided to perform a piano concerto in its entirety in the next few years (hopefully with an orchestra) and finish out my music degree (which I abandoned in 2nd year uni). Once I leave my job, I'm also planning to write/produce a musical... have alot of songs in my head waiting for the right time. And i've planned various duets/performances with a few musician friends.... mostly modern stuff. Been practicing for a christmas performance next week - argh, no time.
3. I suck at this. But it's a genuine passion. I'm prone to overcommit myself to people/causes that have loose/little direct association with me and ignore those in closest surround/most need. And it doesn't help that I'm quite selfish sometimes.
4. Working my butt off so I can so this in earnest someday soon. I have alot of frickin things on the go and a huge checklist to start work on.

Passions: 1.Basketball 2.Music 3.Politics and economics
What I am doing? 1.Playing pick-up ball once a week, obsessing over fantasy basketball, season tickets to see Cal mens hoops, and watching the odd game on tv 2.Not much lately, but I try to see at least one jazz show every semester and I'm hoping to get a regular jam session going again next year 3.Wasting too much time every day reading blogs and news, and then doing actual work and research on economic questions that interest me when I'm not wasting time.
I'd say travel too, but it's a bit on the backburner lately as I try to buckle down and get this PhD thing finished.

If given the time there'd be a lot of things that I am passionate about (in no particular order) - travelling - learning languages - dancing - badminton - music/concerts/singing - hiking/bike tours - films
But as I have a very tight schedule there's only a few things that I'm truly passionate about and also pursue: - taekwondo: makes me sound a bit silly really but I need to go to classes at least every other day. The staying fit part is only one side of it, for me it's more the self-control, inner strength, balance to daily work loads, and me-time that I gain from it. - making people feel good: whenever I can, I try to help out family and friends. Am always happy if I can be of some help or lift someone's spirits. - cooking: love trying out different recipes and thinking of new ingredients/combinations thereof

^Is that the one with furniture made from the foreskin of whale penis? Read about it in a yacht magazine.
The Venus Project is more about ecology and futuristic design (including social/economic systems) than it is about new levels of obscene wealth.

Hypocrites, hookers, sex offenders. Ya'll niggas want to be pimps and players? This aint 1997 nigga.
I'd rather be rich and unhappy, then broke and miserable. Because the game don't give a f**k, if you're lyrical. And that pitiful, so my position is pivotal. You can hate me all you like, but you worship the principle.
[...]
Recognize the game See who's the one to place that blame We getting trapped in a cycle of pain With a generation headed down the drain Time we turn it out
This is how pimps get pimped, and players get played, Beautiful women get cheated on, and gangsters sprayed. Jersey, Detroit, Denver, Phoenix, Atlanta, Texas, Vegas, Seattle, and f***in' Louisiana.
Regardless of the money you're paid. You spend it on a watch and a chain. But can't offer your children a thing. What the hell is going on in your brain? We're going to turn it out.
