(from Admin) NOTE: I FROWN UPON SURVEYS POSTED BY NON-MEMBERS WHO DO NOT INTRODUCE THEMSELVES, DO NOT REFERENCE ACADEMIC SUPERVISION CONTACTS, AND DO NOT OFFER ANY RELEVANCE TO OUR COMMUNITY.
That said, I think people in academia have a hard time getting people to participate in surveys, and that's a shame.
Please note: anonymous is almost never anonymousHi everybody, I am a Master student at the School of Informatics (Lund University) and I am conducting a brief anonymous survey for the Master Thesis to study about user's privacy and risk taking on Social Networking Communities. If you could take five minutes to fill out the survey below, it would be invaluable help to me. Here is a link to the survey: bit.ly/risktakingThank you so much for your time! I really appreciate it.

How about remove the link and provide us your Name and Email address so that we may contact you if we wish to participate? While online surveys are fine, but academia should be smarter than that to know to: 1. Not mask themselves in post that is similar to spam 2. Provide the full address of their survey (I don't want to click on a link) 3. Show their legitimacy by providing their name and contact details (even if it is via the uni)
This is probably another topic, but I don't like the whole idea of "something for nothing" when it is *asked* of me, especially when there is no gain for myself. I do lots of things for nothing, without self benefit and voluntarily (give blood, donate money/clothes, etc). But asking random people whom you have no rapport with to do something where there is no benefit for their time spent on a topic that is not relevant to the premise of this site is wrong.
I agree with the Admin too - anonymous is not anonymous on the 'net, there is only so much you can do that is not traceable.
