For the purposes of my thread, I HAVE to generalize the "asian eye shape" despite the fact they are infinitely diverse.
If you have "asian eyes", do you feel naked without your eye liner? I've seen countless asian girls in public who cake it on because they really do look like a different person without it.
I think maybe it's to compensate for girls who have those asian eyelids (or lack thereof).
Anyone wanna enlighten me or explain how horribly wrong I am?

I hardly use eyeliner... But maybe thats because i can't apply it correctly? I don't really see the fuss with makeup whats so good about it? I find it makes girls look really 'bicthy' sometimes... anyone else see that? Or am I just weird? But yeah, I do love mascara however... it would be the equivalent of my boyfriend whom I see now and then but not every second of the day which is my relationship with the mascara in a nutshell. Nice analogy, robyn.

^ You must've been going for the natural look... I tried applying eye makeup tonight and result shows as follows in picture below! It looks more bitchy methinks.

^ You could be right, its too late to think so I probably don't know what I'm talking about... I'll try experimenting more with makeup on sleepless nights! including pink eyeshadow. I've tried purple before it looked pretty cool, apparently purple is good for brown/hazel eyes and I've also heard that brown eyeshadow is good for blue eyes.

I don't usually use eyeliners because I don't know how to use it lol. I do use eye shadow and eye brow pencil regularly though. At the end of the day, we all do what's best to make our eyes stand out. I don't feel naked without my eye shadow, but I do feel nake without my eyebrow pencil. My eyebrow's too light.

Claudi, brow powder is basically the same as eyeshadow.it comes in colors to match hair and you apply it with a stiff,short-bristled brush.it looks more natural on me than pencil, though Freecia's come out good. oh,and about eyeliner-it's only if you apply it all the way around, both top and bottom, that it makes your eyes look smaller.one of the reasons i wear it (on top) is it makes my eyes look bigger.so either top or bottom, not both.

and then you grow up and then you realise you cannot live without make-up. ain't that the truth!! ;D I tend to use mascara above all else - eyes wise. Tho I use upper eyeliner for work, it seems to define the eyes more than make it smaller. If I'm going out, depending on my mood I will line it all. I still cant get smoky eyes down properly yet tho..

scratch my earlier post,my camera sucks. here's a pretty good tut.the changes i would make, since my eyes are smallish, would be not to line the inner rim,and to only line the outer third of the bottom of my eye. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWIk5c7jRuw

Okay, I actually saved that youtube page but I don't have any of those utensils. Last night was hilarious - tried doing eyeshadow but didn't realize I was under yellow light. I put on eyeshadow something like once or twice a year and it's usually a whole production and get so carried away, I do a lot of lines, shading and eye shaping with 4 to 5 colours (and a stolen qtip) on each lid until it's like a ridiculous mural. I was ordered to wipe some of it off.

you don't need the tools, you can do the same thing with a q-tip,a light hand, and good attention to blending. i love to play with eye shadow too (leopard eyes!.)i do it all the time to entertain myself,i just rarely wear it out.

Ok..I've realized that I'm not really an eye-liner wearer...I may wear it only when someone else does my make-up....I only wear eyeshadow to "go out" But I do abide by mascara...on the other hand my sister abides by eyeliner...
