Put simply, I think obsession is where you don't really care about what the other person wants, you just want THEM whatever that endures.
Love is where you care about what the other person wants even if it doesn't benefit (rather the contrary) yourself.
what do you think?

Love is also where you do not care about your own wants in addition to what they want - selflessness.

^ i think they may FEEL the same or similar which may explain why the same areas of the brain are being activated. but the intentions and motives of the two are different. following on from what exhale said, love is selfless. obsession is selfish.
