checking out wikipedia's "fictional eurasians" listing I made some tallies... (of 44 listed)
61% were half japanese 16% were half chinese 2 were korean 1 was vietnamese 4 didn't state and 1 was in fact mixed asian
Overall this kind of depresses me. It's not very realistic representation. But then who wants to be represented as a stereotype? we can't all be martial arts masters... can we?

Hmmm, there's a few of those entries that are highly speculative. Ada Wong? We really know next to nothing about her, let alone her ethnic breakup. I mean, she looks EA, but maybe she just had some work done.

Interesting thread (well, it certainly roused me from my hiatus). Not sure why no other Filipinos here have spoken up yet... As most know, Dr. José Rizal is the national hero-martyr of the Philippines and one of the greatest revolutionary, literary giants of the Hispanic world. His writings were highly-regarded in Europe too, especially Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, where he was among the first modern Asian heroes of Europe. And another great Rizal link is Dr. Robert Yoder's page: joserizal.info/. The main character of his first book Noli Me Tangere (and other novels by Dr. Rizal) was a Eurasian named Juan Crisóstomo Ibarra, a descendant of the fictional Basque hacendero Don Pedro Eibarramendia. As you can see, Eurasians have been present in literature for quite some time. I know of many more examples from some of history's most important works of literature. That list is in need of some serious updating...

There was speculation over whether or not James Earl Cash in Manhunt was hapa. Members of the white supremacist gang will call him a "half-breed" while looking for him, and his features could be somewhat EA. It could be possible, though, that Starkweather just made this up and told the gang this to help motivate them.

On the other hand, one must consider the motivation behind mass murder.
