I was talking to a Famous Canadian Journalist I had met at a job fair and my mom was going to drive to work when she screamed from downstairs,"lets go!!!!!" The Journalist was taken a back and said is someone calling you? I told my mom that was too embarrassing and she didn't care.
This could have been a future employer ahhh well moms..GOTTA LUV THEM

Everybody loved my mom, everybody. She was, perhaps, too protective over me and my brothers. Most people thought she was my sister.
My white father, on the other hand, was a complete ass everywhere we went. He even got us kicked out of Disneyland by beating up one of the ride operators.

Neither of my parents is really loud or embarrassing...BUT, my lil bro, who’s got the biggest mouth, “makes up” for it all. I mean, you know how with kids, nothing is off-limits. He’ll go talkin to his all friends about all my personal business whether or not I’m present. Sometimes when I’m out in public with him and ppl direct a question at me, and if he knows the answer, he’ll jump to answer it before I can even open my mouth. I mean, I understand how sometimes you just can’t keep quiet about something if you’re being interrogated about it and it’s being dug out of you. But with him, he doesn’t even have to be asked. He’ll just say it even if it’s not necessarily the subject matter at hand. One example, one night a few years ago, we were hanging out with some cousins and other relatives and at some point we were talking about movies. A few of the cousins said that they had just seen a certain movie. I mentioned that I had not seen it yet but that I might later go to see it. They said “it’s alright..but yea, go see it”...then my brother felt some strange urge to say “yeah, you just got back together with __”(may I note that this bf was one that I wasn’t exactly too thrilled about, that I had tried breaking up with him a number of times before I broke it off for good) ...plus really, they didn’t need to know that...you know how if you’re in front of other ppl and you try to stop someone from continuing further into the topic without making a big scene, you might clear your throat or something of the sort to give them the hint or signal? I’ve tried that with him, and not only does it not help, but he’s so oblivious to the whole humiliation factor, he even repeats it louder like “what?! You DID “ ” “” *slaps forehead* I hadn’t even told him any of this stuff..but at times when my mom and I were chatting about it all, he just happened to be nearby where he overheard it. So yea, now we just stay on the safe side by waiting for a time that he’s not home or not in the car with us, so that he won’t be able to eavesdrop on our convos. ok, this is turning into a general embarrassing family member thread

FOB = Fresh Off the Boat, i.e. Mr Ching Chong wah/stupid "go*k" chef speaking broken English types you'd see in movies. "low class" habits can still continue after some college education, etc. if the person spent a lot of time with poor/uneducated people, earlier in life. I know of some rich Asian ladies who seem much less classy than what I'd expect from most rich folks. They came from humble beginnings, and one in particular is a real LOUD MOUTH. Where/how'd your parents meet, again? In Malaysia there are two types of women who go for westerners... the westernized/educated Sarong Party Girls... and the "country girls" <-- might apply more to the smaller cities. One of the girls I dated was a "country girl" who wanted to go to college after she met me... oh my... She was pretty boring intellectually/wasn't much of a conversationist. Well, she sounded perfect for you, Hapa_Sh*thead, you're not the brightest conversationalist either. I personally had plenty of embarrassing experiences from both my parents and embarrasssing parent moments happen regardless of their ethnicity. I don't know who you think you are to say the crap you've been saying, especially your first comment. Putting an asterik in does not remove how offensive what you said is, you jerk. The way you characterize Asians as stupid simply because they're new to the country points to the fact that you obviously buy into caucasian-created stereotypes about Asians. You are extremely LOW CLASS yourself, maybe you should think about that. Maybe you don't realize it yet, but you are very clearly racist. And I'm not just meaning in this post, I've been reading alot of the things you've said and you're repulsive. You obviously need some therapy to get in touch with why you're such a jerk. I've been holding it in for a while, but I have to say it now, because this comment crossed the line. You are disgusting.

i know what you guys mean, my mom (Taiwanese) ;D has a certain instinct to know exactly the wrong time to embarressing me in front of the worst people. She also loves to wear the brightest, most hideous clothes as well as fanny packs. One time I was at the mall with my friends and she stomped in, yelled my name, looked wildly around for me for about 10 minutes, then made an announcement on the whole building for me when i was right there.
