^ That's so sad. It's so sad when you have to put down your pets. I have only had to do it once, but that was enough. My bunny died because my next door neighbours dog jumped over its fence.. ran to my yard (when I was living in my black and white) and snapped it's spine. It somehow crawled back to its cage and we didn't notice it was bleeding for two days. Shocking, I know. Then the doctor said there was no way to help Thummy and we should put him out of his misery.

I have birds, mostly budgies (small parrots) aswell as 2 lizards. The bird cage i leave open in my room, i let them fly around casually - i dont believe in keeping them locked up. As a result they are tamed because they get allot of human interaction. When it starts getting dark they are self trained to just simply return to the cage and go to sleep.

^ Shugi, did you ever teach them how to sing? Wait.. budgies = parakeets.. My bird is starting to sing nonsense and my crappy whistling isn't a great example either. Hogan, I didn't know it then but it tasted damn good.

Oh i am fantastic at mimicking budgie chirps, I cant whistle normally and never could. but the way i whistle sounds just like a budgie whistle. Budgies generally mimick each other's chirps and i do it to them all the time so they sing what i sing.
I also got them trained to jump on the side of the cage to rub their beak against my nose whilst singing. All i have to do is make a particular sound from anywhere in the room and they'll jump on the side from their perch and beckon attention (nose rub). I did that by first singing to a cockatiel in the cage and it was already trained so it was affectionate, the budgies saw this and mimicked it.

^ My ex has some bearded dragons wandering around his home. They're potty trained and use the doggy door! And you don't have to feed them very often.. Oh i am fantastic at mimicking budgie chirps, I cant whistle normally and never could. but the way i whistle sounds just like a budgie whistle. Budgies generally mimick each other's chirps and i do it to them all the time so they sing what i sing. I did that by first singing to a cockatiel in the cage and it was already trained so it was affectionate, the budgies saw this and mimicked it. You sound like a great trainer. I guess the key is trust, as with all things. Is there a Shugi cd I can buy? I use to keep my tiel's cage opened with a ladder at the bottom (his wings are clipped). He liked to come out sometimes, but his cage is big enough to house 10 like him so he doesn't mind being inside. Now that I have the kitties I only open the cage when I'm with him. Surprisingly, he attacked them first. They have been sniffing and almost kissing eachother, but tiel obviously thinks he is superior.

Here's my cat Manny. He is a polydactyl cat, if you look closely you can see the "thumb" on his front paw.

The next door neighbor's cat. I call her Kitty cause I don't know her or her owner. The cat is a serial stalker ... everytime our door is open she tries to sneak thru like our condo is her second home or something. Shes awfully cute tho. and really lovey dovey....and she has cute green eyes.....and she's not the spawn of Satan........
