Here's another myth.Black=big butt. Latina = Big butt.

Compare African Americans with their brethern on the African continent. I worked with a girl from Kenya. She was skinnier than me. She would tell me how the AFrican American students would make fun of her and tell her to eat and make fun of the fact that she did not have a "typical" African American body.

The fact is she probably had what would have been far a more typical
African body but she ate a healthy diet she grew up with from Kenya, wheras African Americans on a whole eat alot of southern sould food.

Soul food = big hips, big butt. Black itself dosn't mean big.

Latinas are always said to have big bodies. But look at some of the indigenious population in some of these South American countries who still eat a healthy diet and are active are very thin.

Marketers are pushing to everyone that Jlo and every Latina Lady has a big butt. And you are all falling for it.

Obesity and diabetes are also a huge problem in the black and Hispanic population in the states.Correlation between the link of big breasts, hips and butts? I think it's lifestyle choice more than anything.

Take a look at marathon runners who are of African, European, Asian, and Latina descent. The shade of skin might be different but their body types are very similiar. Most likely due to diet and exercise.

As far as European women being more....fat. Perhaps it is also their diet and exercise. Like I said go to a local marathon or a training group and you'll find many very thin white women, (who would have thunk) with no wide hips or limbs to be seen.

Also if you compare vegans with meat eaters,vegans tend to be lighter than their meat eating counterparts regardless of race.

Again I think it boils down to what you put in your body and how active or not you are.

And Seraph...as far as height is concerned...

In my city the average height for white males is 5'10. I have a cousin who lives in Asia tell me she thought all white men were 6 ft tall. I couldn't stop laughing. Where are they getting this information?Obviously men lie not only about their penis size but their height. Asian women think white men are so gigantic. When I told her if she thought 5'10 was big, she said no. She wanted a man with a white man's height.

When I told her that was the average size of a white man she was in shock.

In my line of work I've had to get people's heights.Men are some of the most notorious liars.

One white guy swore up and down he was 5'11. I could eyeball his height and knew it wasn't true.Turns out he was 5'7.

And maybe white men look so big because it's usually the tiny asian women who end up dating them. I don't know why more asian women, even if they do date interracially don't find someone closer in height. There are plenty of average height white males. And for white males there are plenty asian girls above 5 feet tall.

I'm 5'3. THe last white guy I dated was 5'8.

Whereas my 4'11 asian girlfriend dated a 6 foot white guy.. So of course when people see them walking down the street, it's every stereotype come to life. You can't help but look.

Wheras when I dated my 5'8 white boyfriend we didn't get stares. A 4'11 girl with a 6 footer will. Everyone's perception will be that asian women are petite and white men are huge.

Sure, it's true there are some men like that out there and there are women out there who feed the stereotype, but let's not make it out to be an absolute truth when it isn't. Eowyn - Yes, stereotypes abound in this thread, but when you, someone who has no trouble stereotyping other things, yells out loud about this, people may presume your agenda is a bit skewed. As Y2J said, no one is blind. I know Asian fetishists exist and Asian woman who hate themselves do too. I know some WM/AF will be this. But to write a post ranting about how all WM/AF are this? STEREOTYPE.

You can have mixed genetics with monoracials too. My 4 children all seem to be a fusion of my wife and I. Seriously, if we were each alone with our kids observers could think they were not ours.

I know everyone's having fun with Asian side/White side but why not just mother's side vs. father's side. My relatives seem to do that with our 4 kids all the time.

Actually, I didn't read this thread before. I usually stay away from threads like this. I just saw Y2J as the most recent posters and since I think his comments are usually thought provoking, I thought I might see what was up. Voila!

Also, I'm not so sure you can call me a child on an interracial relationship. Please read the comment below my screename - both my parents happen to be EA. And both their parents happen to be either EA or Asian (I never met my one Asian grandfather, just my two EA grandmothers), so there was nothing interracial there either. I however do have many aunts, uncles and cousins who have embarked upon interracial relationships.

I'm not sure how you can go around accusing us of perpetuating stereotypes. Just what stereotypes am I perpetuating? I am not the one who saw fit to pigeonhole all IR relationships that produce EAs as all asiaphile WMs and sellout AFs. I am not spouting off about all IR relationships being colorblind either. Please do not think you were the only person to figure this out. I know what the world is like and have seen enough human nature to understand that talking about it in absolutes will never paint a full picture.

Talk about stepping on toes. Yes the post in the Ea family thread was very in your face. But I never, not once said the word -all. It was meant to be an attention getting post and I wanted to put forth a view that wasn't posted yet in the thread. I am also involved in an Ir as you are but I wanted to get away from that other equally ignorant and silly view that interracial relationships are symbols of racial harmony and peace.

I wasn't addressing you personally when I said eurasian children were perpetuating the sterotypes. I was pretty much addressing every one else in the thread that had neatly split their physcial attributes into the asian or white camp. So I apologize. That part wasn't directed at you.

But good for you saying you aren't blind to what is going on when it comes to race relations but it's obvious by reading alot of these posts in this thread that many people are oblivious to the internal racism that they carry or has been handed down to them.
