I'm an American first, and really, only... I don't feel any connection to my roots, but the patriotism I feel for my country is at times overwhelming

I've never been patriotic, in england, you're accused of being a racist if you're patriotic. If you fly a British flag, you get told to take it down in many cases. No joke!

First and foremost, I consider myself an American. I have very little connection to Korean culture, though I'm 1/2 Korean and 1/2 White. I also don't look very asian, so this may have something to do with it. I'm an American first, and really, only... I don't feel any connection to my roots, but the patriotism I feel for my country is at times overwhelming Really? I've never been patriotic, in england, you're accused of being a racist if you're patriotic. If you fly a British flag, you get told to take it down in many cases. No joke! What a difference, in the U.S., patriotism and flag waving pride is encouraged.

Can't wait till it's 'God save the King' - Prince William that is ... mm.
The fact I can remember more Asian national anthems than even the start of the British one doesn't worry me in the slightest. I'm not particularly patriotic, I find the football boring therefore I root for anyone BUT the British and I only get slightly patriotic when I abuse my rights in the States - purely for the amusement though.
Personally, I'm more attatched? Defensive? of my EA side - which I consider more important than my Brit. side but to be honest, I had never even considered being 'raceless' until I read this post.

What rights do you abuse in the states michelle I have never found any members of the royal family attractive...is that because they're all inbred? Diana was quite stunning actually but wasn't in the bloodline i guess.

Haha, I'm just joking, I just meant some accents sway more power in some parts of the world - thank god for 'some' stereotypes.
And yes, the royal family aren't full of the stunners but beggers can't be chosers, Prince W isn't THAT bad.

I thought it was pretty interesting today I was connecting with some Hispanic New Mexican Professors here who teach at the local colleges and universities here in Frisco. Being a Californian/Califas Race and a product of the Western United States. We had so much love for the Western life and our place. Another conversation I had with a biker and Shamans from Arizona and Old Mexico and it territories. I told him Shaman word comes from Siberia/ Turan of Old in Asya.

I can empathize with the notion of being raceless. In canada everyone is something-canadian... native-canadian, chinese-canadian, french-canadian... me, I'm just canadian. I think it's funny that people feel sorry for that sentiment like I lost my roots or something. The truth is people hang onto those roots too much to dictate who they are or where they're going and I reject mentality for the most part.

Just like being Canadian I'm 100 percent Californian. A true Californian has long hair tied back like a Native Californian( Native Culture,) Ancient Greek, Polynesian, Persian, Arab or Ancient Nordic. We love our land and know the plants, animals, mountains, rivers and lakes. We can survive in the extreme cold and the intense heat of our environment without any kind of help whatsoever. Califas and the beauty of intensity of our land ringed throughout the ring of fire of the Pacificos Family.

I'm actually jealous of anyone who can relate to a nationality. Or even a race. I wish i could be in a country long enough to BE FROM that country, or feel part of it. Yes, i've lived in Singapore for a decade, but as an expat. Oh and I have dual nationalities (british, canadian), even though I havent lived in those countries for so long.. so I cant relate to either! And which one would I keep if I had to chose only one? I dont even know. Oh, and my mother feels very strongly about HK, and though I did live there for some time, I cant even speak cantonese. So even though I love HK, its just a country that I happen to have some relation to.
So at this point in time, I'm very confused and therefore, would LIKE to think of myself as raceless and nationalityless (if thats a word).

I have traveled a lot in my life throughout the world. But I think you must have a nationality and with a nationality you have somwhat a purpose in life.
