I watched Grandma's Boy this afternoon. It is the most underrated film ever! The critics panned this film so harshly. It deserves so much more credit! HAHA! Nerds + Stupid Comedy + Video Games + Old ladies high on marijuana = FUNNY!! I give it 8/10.

We watched that in class (it was the novel we were studying) and the girls were getting so worked up from Abigail!! Just watched 'Click'. Gawd, it was a hassle trying to rent out! 9/10. Kinda light and funny to begin with, but by the end I was almost in tears. :S

Yep. I didn't really laugh all that much. I think the only time I laughed was when he was changing colour and pretending to be the Hulk. I don't know why - it's kinda lame. But yeah, near the end it gets intense! But then it has a really happy ending. Made me smile. Oh, and the Bed, Bath & Beyond guy was funny - "I was just watching you sleep." BTW, Prince Habeboo is Rob Schneider. Last movie I watched - Hoodwinked. 3/10 Don't judge a movie by its cover!!

Watched Last life in the universe a few months back, liked it but I didn't really think about it again. Just watched it again tonight, and wow I have to say, this time it's so much better The description of the film from what I've read, all described it as black comedy. I didn't think it was black comedy though. It was a sad film that just made me feel like crying. I guess I don't have the twisted humor in me, and can't take irony too well. The whole movie was shot beautifully about a young girl who lost her sister in front of her eyes, and shared this tragic event with a stranger. This stranger happened to be an ex-yakuza member who fled to Thailand with a suicidal tendency. The two met because of the girl's sister's tragedy and grew fond of each other.... 9/10 I like it.

The Royal Hunt of the Sun.
I first saw this in the late 70's and have bought it on DVD recently. It is based on a play and it stars Robert Shaw as Francisco Pizarro and Christopher Plummer as Atahualpa, emporer of the Inca empire.
The setting is in Peru/Bolivia in 1530, Pizarro has captured Atahualpa and a ransom fee for his release is a room full of gold. The story concentrates later on on how the majority of the Spanish conquistadores want to murder Atahualpa whilst Pizarro wants to spare his life.
9/10 in my estimation, allowing for cutting of the original film. More a food for thought film than a attitude and explosions one!

Oh, and the Bed, Bath & Beyond guy was funny - "I was just watching you sleep." hey i watched Click today and i agree with alot of what you said. i didnt really laugh much, some of the physical comedy would be expected especially when you have a time travelling device...its been done before, but oh my god....i couldnt believe how much of a non-comedy it turned out to be. Man that was really emotional in the end...and then that department store guy...i agree he was funny...lol. He needed friends and was so happy when Adams character hugged him..haha...he is also in the film Grandma's Boy that i mentioned previously in this thread...they are both produced by Happy Madison productions...Adam Sandler's production company. That film is absolutely sweet! He has a bigger role in that film and he is 10x hilarious. That whole film is 10x more hilarious than Click (especially David Spades cameo ahahahah!) but still...Click was definitely not a film i wasted my time watching...really showed an emotional side to Sandler. 7/10.

^ Speaking of emotional sides to comedic characters... what about Robin Williams? he was really creepy in "One hour photo" (He did a good job acting though). Also, Aston Kutcher in "Butterfly effect" was pretty damn different- not used to seeing him do a serious role.. the movie was creepy too

^ yeah i watched that same clip on youtube...too and so when i actually watched it again on dvd...it wasnt as funny...haha. you guys should really check out grandma's boy...sorry if i keep raving on about...just dont listen to those who diss it...it is really funny. it was given a rough beating by critics so im trying my best to promote it for its goodness....david spade, rob schneider and adam sandler seem to be appearing in cameos in all each others films...its really cool they got such a great bond together and the main character in grandma's boy...was the adam sandlers roommate in little nicky, the actor guy who thought his pepsi was coke. the film is very sweet too, especially since its named 'grandma's boy' thats not very surprising. anyhoo...comedians in emotional roles? lets see...jim carrey in the majestic? ppl said they found it weird seeing him like that. i havent seen that film though. and yes, boy didnt robin williams seem like a psycho freak in one hour photo. but look at jim carrey in his new thriller coming out...number 23. man he looks scary. that will be a different thing to experience.

Watched The Banquet a week ago or so. Chinese movie. Zhang Zhi Yi and EA Daniel Wu Loose adaptation of Hamlet. Pretty well done. Not a very colorful cinemetography, but should a tragedy be colorful? The dark seetings matched the mood. As usual, Zhang Zhi Yi steals the show with a wonderful performance, if you aren't annoyed by the fact that she seems to be in every major Chinese movie . Though the acting was good, there was something missing. What the directors failed to do in this movie was making the audience care about the characters. Of course you hate Zhang Zhi Yi's characters, but the director didn't round up the other characters enough. I give this movie a 8/10. Could have been great, but it just missed something.
