There seems to be a lot of interest surrounding how America’s Number One movie has actors who built warrior-like bodies in 4 months. According to his interview, Gerard Butler was in ‘mediocre’ shape when he first got signed to play the lead role and then went on a 4 month killer routine that included tons of calisthenics, plyometrics and disciplined eating. He describes his 300 rep spartan routine as such: Without resting between exercises he performed, 25 pullups 50 deadlifts(135 pounds) 50 pushups 50 jumps (on a 24 in. box) 50 floor swipers 50 single arm clean and press (using a 36 pd kettlebell) Before After No Pain, No Gain, No Abs, No SPARTA. I was thinking of putting this into the relationships forum, because of my own issue's about looking good and feeling good. Though how would this topic sound diplomatic enough & non-shallowish to come across as being normal. Then I thought "Look at all those average joes outside, do you think they are all uber happy, What would be better sitting at home on the couch or working out and looking great" "Well I suppose that filling in time and working out for shallow reasons is better than trying to convince myself with tzen & possitive thinking that Im feeling good about doing nothing" "Then Shallow on!, my shallow & direct friend, no beating around the bush, lets hurt ourselves now in inspiration of being shallow"

You should have an after-300-showing-movie-done-back-to-mcdonald's photo. Wonder if he is still sticking to the workout.

As much as women have to diet I dont see why men should not sweat a lil to be attactive and feel good abt themselves. Btw, I think computer graphic has a lot to do with the additional abs. Even in Troy, computer graphic is resposible to make Brad Pitt look at big and muscular.

That 300 workout was not what he did every day - not even close.
That was the final trial of exercises that the cast performed to prove their results at the end, sorta like a Gauntlet. Also, only one of the real actors of the film did it, the man who played Daxos. The rest of the people who did it were the stuntmen / extras.
If you want to get in shape, go buy Arnold Schwarz.'s book on bodybuilding.

Gerard stoped his training after the movie, the mens health article I was reading said he had stoped for 8 months, which is bad because those taught muscles are all of a sudden jobless. This is vincent regan, the actor in both troy & 300. in troy he's padded up in armour as the myrmidon captain. 1st week 8th week The actual 300 rep routine with the 25 pull ups, 50 push ups etc, is a test for the cast. for that test they were supposed to do it in 20 minutes. They did other exercises before that like running with giant rubber bands attached to them and moving truck tires and leap frogging over them, activities that were random so that their bodies didn't get use to the same thing. But the guy who made the 300 rep routine suggests for normal people looking to get in shape to do it 3 times a week with one days rest imbetween, and on one of those 3 occasions to do the routine twice.

In the opening post there have been some digital enhancements, as evidenced by the completely different pigmentation of the nipples.
Having said that, to stick to such a workout requires good discipline. The hardest thing about it is that there are no rests between exercises. Not even one or two minutes? Just one exercise immediately after the other? That would be difficult to adjust to at first I imagine. I can't workout without having rests between exercises.

Spartans don't really exist today. Maybe their workout didn't really work.

Spartans don't really exist today. Maybe their workout didn't really work. Nope, it was because McDonald's opened a tinny itty bitty branch in downtown Sparta ... then it was all downhill from there!!! So, instead of hearing "do you want your axe or your sword?" ... you'd hear "do you want fries with that?". Instead of "come back with your shield or on it" ... it became "come back with everything on it."

I was doing the last step in the rep routine wrong upto now, I was doing the arm clean and press with both arms holding 10kg bells, It was unwittingly the best part because it worked the traps & dorsi muscles in the back really well, if you do it with one arm it only does the deltoid, teres muscles.
