Just a note for anyone in Melbourne who likes or is interested in seeing some kick arse flamenco being performed, go to: www.kanela.com.auand click on 'News & Events'. Arte Kanela are doing a one time only show a the Famous Spiegeltent next month and it's definitely worth checking out. These guys are the best flamenco performers in Australia. I would also put money on the fact you will see some celebs there too.....

I like Flamenco. I like the fiery way the women taps their heels and the man moves to their rythm heh. However, I feel asleep while watching Flamenco in Barcelona just because its too long :E

Yep...flamenco is hot...and it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy and a little turned on inside! Were you in a small bar setting or more of a concert hall thingy? I find the smaller the space and therefore more intimate, the better

Flamenco is love...passion, really. Sometimes, when I feel overwhelmed, I feel like chucking it all and flying out to Andalucia to bum around gypsy-style and learn flamenco. One can dream.

I was watching flamenco on a big stage. Its wonderful at 1st. I think flamenco would be a popular dance if its not too damn long.

I guess it just depends on how they do it. Arte Kanela's songs are no longer than about 6 mins each, but broken up with different dancers swapping and such. There's not a moment where you start getting bored. I did see this other group who were a bit like that though

^ No probs. Well, these guys are actually friends of mine who have offered to teach me - for free nonetheless! But it's more complicated than that! You see, I have a boyfriend, and I'm not sure what 'free' in their cheeky flamenco language means exactly! hahaha! I would look to learn somewhere else, but they are the best! But I want to learn some other styles first. You should definitely enrol - I think you have a deep, dark, mysterious side to your personality which would be perfectly expressed through flamenco dance - the only dance where you don't need to keep that happy happy smile on your face! (you know what I mean)

Its always fishy to get something for free. You always have to imagine what they actually want in return. My "Man Friday" thinks it suits me too since im very bad at making languid movement -.-;

Oh I know what he wants! But at the same time, they are nice guys. I prob would have accepted if it was back in the day where I used to actually hang out with them, which I don't anymore. Give the flamenco a go! Then get it taped and you can show me. I love watching it!
