oh, i'm sorry to hear that about your sister, its got to be tough especially at her age. i've never had to go through acne, but a guy from my HS had it real bad, He went to the doctors and got some medication - im not sure what it was (Sorry), but it totally dried out his skin for about 2 weeks, and then his skin was perfect, no scars or anything. How about tea tree oil or witch hazel.. they're supposed to be quite good, i went to the body shop and got my sister tea tree oil.. but it didn't work. thanks for the suggestions though. I really appreciate it.

Has she ever used those multi-step topical treatments like Pro-Activ or whatever that's called? These days I just try to eat healthy, drink lots of water, in addition to using Clearasil daily face wash, that skin toner you apply with a cotton ball, then an oil free lotion so it doesn't get dried out; Once at night, once in the morning, and maybe once during the day if feeling greasy. It works for me as long as I'm consistent. No I'm not a metrosexual, my face is just problematic sometimes. her face isn't greasy.. i felt it, and it seems normal or dry.. she's tried clearsil, oxy, and im thinking about letting her try proactive.. but i hear that stuff is expensive and she's really young, i don't know if it'll work or make it worse for her. she drinks lots of water.. so i dont know why her skin is so clogged.

IMO, it smells a hell of a lot nicer than a lot of shampoos..I can't stand it when my hair smells like its been drenched in prefume..ickkk.

my friend actually took prescription anti-biotics rather than use cremes or lotions. maybe you should ask the doctor about that. It's probably something that needs to be cleared up from the inside rather than the skin itself.

That's horrible for your sister. I never really went through acne in my teens, just had a couple little ones once in awhile. But I did know this one girl who had really bad acne. She wore a lot of make up, which mostly covered it but under the make up you could tell she had an acne problem. Once when I was in the girls room with her at school, I realize I forgot to bring foundation with me (I don't use it often anymore but back then I was addicted) and I asked to borrow hers because she had hers out. When I put the stuff on a blemish that was showing it completely disappeared. I don't know what that stuff was called, but if you get special make up that might help. It won't make it go away but it'll make it less noticeable and cover up the red. I don't know the brand of it though, it wasn't a normal brand. You probably have to ask a dermatologist. hm, shes too young to wear makeup.. but thanks for the suggestion razu.. i don't wear makeup for that very reason.. makes ur skin dry and prone to zits.

yeah, i dont really think make up is a good idea either, if you've got spots you should let it 'air' rather than block it up with products which could make it worse.
a girl i knew at school used to layer on the foundation to cover her spots on her forehead, but you could still see them, but the more make up she was putting on, the more it aggravated her spots and so she got more and could never clear them as they weren't given the opportunity to breathe and clear itself up.. so its a viscious cycle. and at your sisters age, you dont really want to start getting into that or you wont be able to stop relying on makeup.

thanks xandra.. but i wonder.. atkins diet rated excellent.. um, yeh (how does that have anything to do w/ acne? but as a diet itself..too much of an extreme to cut out all carbs).. tried that.. and so didn't work.. im wondering if some of these treatments, etc.. work but backfire somehow? (acne) thanks tho, i'll try to look into them.... if i have time... right now im bombarded with stress and excessive noise/complaining... baby is crying, i have essays to start, novels to read, my sis is coming in and out complaining about her pimples, my mom is yelling on the phone, my dad is watching some loud acton flick, and my bf is trying to massage my shoulders.. u should see it here.. it's like full house: asian style.. lol
