Likewise for aging gracefully. I won't preach to those that choose to get some work done, it's their own body, they can do as they wish. Well I think that type of plastic surgery is more like damage control for people who haven't taken care of themselves through exercise, diet and sun exposure. There are non-surgical ways to maximize one's appearance if one has the discipline and makes the effort. Spin-off: How would you feel about your partner wanting to get plastic surgery? I would really question their motives. Usually there is more to it than just "because I want to." if it's some type of reconstructive surgery etc I can understand but when it comes to implants and other stuff (especially if it's because they find themselves ugly even if it's obviously not the case) then I would have a problem with it and urge them to seek counseling prior to getting any work done. Dermabrasion or things to undo some of their own lifestyle caused damage is one thing, but because they have "always hated their nose" etc - that's where I reevaluate the person.

No amount of diet, excercise or sun exposure (?) will make one's nose any straighter or smaller.

I was quoting her remark about "aging gracefully", not reconstructive surgery or altering one's overall appearance. BTW I had a friend who was half Japanese and his Japanese mother used to make comments about his big nose all his life and basically pressured him into getting a nosejob. He got it and years later in his 30's he regretted it and felt like perhaps she was trying to whiten his appearance and was self-conscious about her own appearance. Another thing to remember, especially when one is a teen, is that the face isn't really done growing. What looks big at 16 looks balanced at 25. Cartilage grows faster than bone so that noses and ears may look disproportionate in ones teens but as the skull's bone growth catches up it looks balanced and normal in the 20's.

I'm so for it Actually I have been thinking if I have another kid and have to get another C sec anyway might as well have them do a nip and tuck on the tummy while they are down there, heehee. No matter how much I exercise my tummy will never be the same but I do not like huge scars so if the scar would be bad then I will settle for the ugly tummy. But for anything that had to involve putting a object in my body like fake boobs or butt I just could never do, that is just so odd to me. I could only see that as being o.k if it was because you had to due to a horrible accident that disfigured you. Botox scares me, I have seen many women have it done and they always look so tense and their skin looks like it's going to rip it's so tight.

It's stupid; btw, what's the most extreme plastic surgery could modify one's appearance?

Nope, never had anything done and I doubt I ever will. Unless I got into an accident and needed reconstructive work. I'm not really opposed to plastic surgery...but I am...kind of. I find obvious plastic surgery horrible looking. I just don't like it. I don't care if someone's had something done or not, I just don't want to know they've had something done. And I'm not just talking about outrageous cases like Joan Rivers or Michael Jackson. Even gorgeous girls like Masuimi Max...I mean: she's hot. She has such a great bod, such a nice ass, awesome tats...but her tits bug me because it's so obvious to me that they're fake. Even if I think someone is hot, if I can tell they've had something done I'm completely turned off. But if it's not obvious to me, if I can't tell, then I'm okay with it. Like say, Jennifer Tilly. She's been looking remarkably good lately, much younger than she did five years ago. And her lips are much plumper now than they were when she was in her twenties. But nothing is obvious about it to me, I don't look at her and see this or that procedure, it looks natural to me. So...there maybe is some possibility that when I'm older and I want to look younger, if I could be sure that it would turn out natural looking, I might do it. But I still highly doubt it because I'm afraid of surgery. And it just seems so petty.

You know, I used to think that maybe when I started to look old, I'd get into some kind of plastic surgery struggle to maintain my youth. Then I saw what happened to Mickey Rourke. No thanks.

I don't see any positive morally acceptable purpose for PS other than for correcting unfortunate deformities (either natural or not).

Plastic surgery is just one of the worst ways to abuse medical technology in most cases another than trying to produce clones of the world's most dreaded ppl.
