LOL, in france french toast is called " pain perdu" literally meaning " lost toast"....^^....LMAO...never understood why.....but i found out that very few people eat it here.....as for the french fries, they just call it " frite" meaning : "fried" .....and yes people in france have a lot of french fries...but french fries are from Belgium ....well according to what i was told...so basically they re not french....

I think I will just point to the food and point to my mouth LOL!!!!! So do the Belgiums call it french fries or just "fried" in their language? I wonder why it is called "Lost Toast" probably because it is so good it disappears fast LOL!! What do french people eat for breakfast? I know they have coffee because here we have a lot of "french roast coffee" or is that from Belgium too!!??!? HAHA!

french toast is basically bread dipped in egg with a bit of milk added to the egg...ie. eggy bread. Then it's fried in a pan which has been coated with butter (to stop it from sticking).
All very easy, when I was little I used to make it every sunday for my brother and me.

My grandma used to make this awesome corn soup. Good for winter. Yum. Also she made the best succotash. Yummy. But I think it's mostly a regional thing. My grandma is from upstate New York and she made this all the time. I also love pepperoni balls...but I think that's just popular in Pennsylvania.
My mom learned how to make succotash from my Grandma and she would make it but she would always put it over rice! I do the same thing now!

What's 'succotash'? Apart from something Sylvester the Cat would say.
