So...What's your brand of rice?Rice is a staple food for pretty much all Asians... and I don't know about you but I can't go without eating it at least once a day. Since it is so important, Why not devote an entire thread to rice? ;D Ok, I'll go first. My brand is Super Lucky Elephant - Thai Jasmine White Rice. Yumm.

I'm actually sort of picky about rice. I usually buy Nishiki, but there's another Japanese brand that's not too bad. Chinese rice never seems to be as sticky, soft or delicious to me for some reason, but maybe it's just the way it's being cooked. It seems awfully dry though.
Same goes for tofu. My mom bought extra-soft tofu at some point and I almost had a conniption. My world caved in; it just wasn't the same. Gotta be extra-firm, firm at the very least. But that's for another scintillating thread entirely, isn't it.

Long grain white Basmati (Himalayas) type! I switched to it due to health reasons

i like Japanese rice best. For "regular" rice i prefer Thai brands.....

I prefer basamati too. Didn't know there are different types though. Oh i was meaning the type of rice i prefer is basmati ;D Whatever brand is in store is what I pick but mostly I am leaning towards Hiimalayan harvested ones (India i guess)
