I've always wondered about what the limit with Zinc was. Though my father keeps on saying take it and take a lot of it. And he used to work at one of the best Med Schools. As I become just like him I want to know every kind of remedy out there. I am very happy today I just scored an in-depth poster of Chinese Herbs with pictures and their uses in Traditional Chinese Medicine. I think it's way to beautiful.

i remember the safe high levels for zinc is within 100-150 no more than 150. I know men lose zinc every single day so it is a good idea to have it as part of your daily regime. (disclaimer: im no med person i only read of peer reviewed studies, and biological assays. i planned on studying nutrition tho)

with zinc, i find it does NO good if i just take a pill. but it works WONDERS if it has a chance to sit around in my throat/nose. For example, zinc lozenges help me amazingly. you can't eat or drink for at least a half hour after the lozenge, though, because the zinc does it's work by being in the problematic area.

Yeah lozenges are one of the only ways to digest it successfully.

Helen, you don't have to actually *drink* the warm salt***er for it to soothe your throat, gargling is much more effective! NO WAY!! haha.. damn. i could only manage half a glass before i gave up!! I must've misheard my grandma then.. or she was taking the piss! Oh, and about the pineapple, I think it does have to do with it being 'cold'.. like pears and other fruits, my pregnant friend can hardly eat any fruits these days.. which is kinda the opposite to what western people try and do when pregnant..

Water, rest, fresh oranges, I didn't find the multivitamins at the supermarket here in CWB, but I didn't exactly look very hard. "Ganmaoling"... I've always taken that sh*t and it works. Anybody know where can I find it here in HK?

^ i think for colds rubbing tiger balm on your back with a huge coin i think is one of them. i'll have to ask my dad tomorrow. My Ma does this to the family. She actually uses some sort of green liquid analgesic and pretty much scrapes the back until red marks show up. I remember going to the ER one time after Mom's "treatment" and all the techs and nurses wanted to see.

^ thanx for that! Although now that I’ve read the ingredients, I think I’ll have a hard time trying to find it or anything similar. hmm… something with 'blue green algae', I’m allergic to seafood. I’m not even sure if I could stomach that. LOL
