Mmhh... I saw the "Meanings of names in Chinese..." thread and a question came to my mind, thou I didn't know if post it in the same thread or open a new one... but as it isn't exactly the same question I post it in another one... and if this goes better in the other thread, have the mods the power to send this there ? Well... my chinese last name, Leo (cantonese) I say it like... but I guess Leo isn't any "official" transliteration, my question is if any of you can help me to find what is the original character of that name... This can be a thread of how to write chinese in chinese It's a good idea for the name! david

If "Leo" in Cantonese is indeed "Liu" in Mandarin, then my effort was not wasted. Top left character is the lastname "Liu" and there are a total 6 strokes and all of the strokes come in a specific order which I have demonstrated. Hope it helps.
