Not really related, but I just realized we have no members from India. Despite India having a billion people.

Very timely Lara. I had the same craving and dragged my colleagues for Indian buffet a few days ago. Ack, I always forget the names, but I'm cool with garlic naan, anything tikka, and and that yoghurty drink.... whats the name again? *asks colleague* ......Lassi! If i'm in India though, i go pure veg.

Only Lara would start a thread like this. She made me eat this thing called 'PAN!' which is like potpery. It consisted or rose pettles and jam, black licorish candy, cumin seeds, and other crap that totally didnt go together. Then she had the audacity not to try my home made "alouda!" which is refreshing Mauritian specialty. Milk, almond essance, sugar, Tookmaria seeds (they swell and get fuzzy), and jelly. Anyway best indian food can be found in 'Terre Rouge' in Mauritius in a little shack that makes fresh rotis by the road side. They are small and they fill them with a curry of tomatos and beans, or fish.

I could use a yummy masala dosa right now As far as indian food goes i am only obsessed with the aforementioned dosa, palak paneer (spinach curry with cottage cheese chunks), malai kofta (tomato & cashew curry with cottage cheese dumplings), vegie samosa's and of course BARFI (pistachio or condensed milk variety...) And any laddoo will do too! I don't know why, but the only good indian restaurants you will eat at are of the seedy variety. So the seedier looking, the better.
