So what was it? Where'd ya have it? Post a picture. For me ....besides my mom's home-made biriyani Its LAHORE TIKKA house in little India in Toronto-- Naan, butter chicken, chick pea masala, beef vindaloo...oh my... excuse me I gotta go... Only Lara would start a thread like this. She made me eat this thing called 'PAN!' which is like potpery. It consisted or rose pettles and jam, black licorish candy, cumin seeds, and other crap that totally didnt go together. Then she had the audacity not to try my home made "alouda!" which is refreshing Mauritian specialty. Milk, almond essance, sugar, Tookmaria seeds (they swell and get fuzzy), and jelly. Anyway best indian food can be found in 'Terre Rouge' in Mauritius in a little shack that makes fresh rotis by the road side. They are small and they fill them with a curry of tomatos and beans, or fish. Ha ha... I tried the PAAN but that was only after you had some. Gosh it was suspect...tasted like dried flowers, cereal, licorice and seeds and jam...all in one. with a leather leaf for rufage. well I thought I should have started this disscussion sooner since I am the Indian one. I had some of your drink which kinda tasted like liquid PAAN...just kidding. Your drink was delish...it just I had eaten soo many things that day that i was full. I liked the jello. gosh back to indian food. so who wants to go to lahore tikka hut.! hey what was that Pharcide track?

cool I have been looking for that track forever.
another good Indian food is dosa. Its this huge crispy thin crepe that is savory with potatoe and onion spice mixture kinda like aloo gobi and is it served with coconut chutney and sour dall which is a split bean pea soup.

Went to a place called Dosa the other night on Valencia here in Frisco. They had all the S. Indian stuff. Had Tamil Curry which was like Lamb Achar and had Dosa and Idli's with all their sauces. Had all kind of stuff that are common in S. India but are pretty exotic here in Frisco. In regards to S. Indian fare.

What does a mango lassi taste like? Like vanilla ice cream and shaved ice and mango smushed in?
edit: i had a lamb curry last week with some accompaniments like sunflower seeds, banana, raisins, cucumber, coconut, chutney, mustard pickles & tomatoes....yummy! I'm glad I was adventurous cause I never knew Indian food could be so yummy!

There's so many Indian places here in Frisco. There are three spots here where they are. Valencia, Tenderloin/Downtown, and 9th and Irving. I basically pick and choose. I know all the best for taste and price and I've narrowed most of them down to what I like and what I want to spend on a random night. I also goto Berkeley when I'm there and know which places to go when I'm there in the lower University Ave. area.

Okay, yes, barfi is an awful name for a food product.
But damn it, it tastes so good!

Indian food does beat all the rest. Had some Beef Nihari the other night and that curry was too good. Almost like a European brown sauce but with a couple Indian twists to it like Fenugreek or Cardamon. The sauce was thick and gelationous and rich and there were no shortcuts involved. I know where I will be tomorrow night in Berkeley...some Indian place!
