Broer, interesting comparison on racial orientations among anime and movies.
Maybe the fact there are more non-Japanese actors in the movies are casted, is
because producers want the movies to be a bigger hit in greater scales? While in anime, you don't need to do that because all the charactors are not real. And kids don't really pay attention to where it's originally made as long as it's fun to watch.
Tokyo sushi bar, I've heard of it, but never been there yet. I was much dissapointed with the chicken curry at Wagamama. The proportion of rice and curry sauce is not right.. They need to serve more curry sauce, I felt so sad having to eat rice without the taste of curry in the end..
Last Life in Universe!? OK, now I finally know the title. I watched this movie while I stayed at a hotel in Bangkok. I watched only a part of the movie, but it left me such a strong impression, very nostalgic and comfortablly dark. The girl is Thai and the guy is Japanese right? It was fun seeing those 2 miscommunicating and speculating things between each ohter. The guy was running away from Yakuza I think. I have to watch this again. I first have to get a DVD player though..
Nihongo oshiete ageyouka?
I don't approve the way Japanese government is handling foreign affairs.
Especially the way they have been dealing with the post WW2 issues.
I think they will never be able to see things from other countries' points of view.
I don't even think they realize what they are missing because they lack this capability to see things objectively, there is so much misunderstanding, confusion, and frustration among Asian countries toward Japan.
I feel sorry for Japan, but they have to make a huge change in order to survive better.
I am deeply sorry for your grandparens. If I was in your position, I might have hated Japanese throughout my life.
