I just saw this cool video of an Indian/Chinese wedding. youtube.com/watch?v=TQh2hiJAesII thought in was great to see an interAsian wedding. I am not sure if they also had a Chinese wedding. Some thoughts on this wedding. Its really cool how the color red is prevalent in both Indian and Chinese weddings, also pink (one of the bride's sisters was wearing a pink sari.) My Chinese friend when she got married ahd several several changes of dress-Western white, Chinese red teongsam, then a pink one. I wonder if the bride and groom are both doctors/professors etc in the states-since it seems there were alot of white colleagues. Obviously both families are well off. It also seems like the bride's family or at least the mom knows the groom fairly well. The bride seems to come from a high caste Indian family (Brahmin?), so I wonder what the courtship/engagement process was like for them. Since, usually don't Indians like to make arrange marriages for the kids? Anyhow, its great to see in people from 2 Asian cultures get married. I hope it continues much more. (I know Asians of different ethnicities marry each other, but not to the extent of European ethnicities.)

DivaDancerLara what sort of wedding customs did your parents incorporate/combine? There seems to be various types of Indian weddings.

Hi, CJF I'm already happily married since 1999. After seeing that Chinese/Indian wedding on You Tube I started reminiscing about my wedding and the origins of different wedding customs.

That is awesome, when my friend was getting married he is korean and his soon to be wife was Indian, I thought AWESOME this wedding is going to be so much fun. I was so wrong, I didn't know herself and her family were hardcore Christians in India, no music, no dancing, no loud speaking, no yummy food at the wedding, it was miserable didn't help that booth sides of the family had no personality at all. I tried so hard to escape but everytime I was so close to running away someone popped up and stoped me and ask where was I going...., "oh trying to find the bathroom again" not.
