His Dark Materials (Book III) "The Amber Spyglass" I'm planning to see the movie on December 10th so I have to finish reading before that or I will think of Nicole Kidman everytime I read "Mrs. Coulter" YAY! Let us know how you like the movie!! I just read a pretty good review of it in the NYTimes today. He thinks they cast Nicole Kidman perfectly. I hope she holds up!!

At a book store when I randomly found on a table the book "When God Winks" by Squire Rushnell. Rushnell calls such coincidences "God Winks," meant to reassure us as we travel along our life's path. He's written a series of books on the idea, starting with God Winks: How the Power of Coincidence Guides Your Life. Rushnell says it's important to realise that we're not alone on this journey, and, for him, coincidences prove that.
I do say, after reading this book I can't seem to put it down until I continue to finish it!

stumbled across 'Beowulf' in a .25 cent bin and figured what the hell.maybe it's the translation, but despite all the action i was bored to tears.couldn't finish it.last thing i read was a bio of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy.interesting read, but you never really get a sense of there being anything about her with which you could identify, despite the way she presented herself during campaigns.

I've jus finished 'A Piece of Cake' by Cupcake Brown. It was really moving and inspirational. It's along the lines of 'A Child Called It', which also had me crying!!
Looking for a new book now, any suggestions?

Nancy Drew Mysteries. I'm reading all the ones with the covers that I don't remember. Oh man. I was the BIGGEST Nancy Drew fan (which distressed me when they came out with a hideous looking movie). Nancy was always so much cooler than the Hardy Boys. Those yellow hardcovered books. I LOVED THEM. I think I have almost every one in the set somewhere at home--those things are classic.

Apocalypse Culture II. It's an "underground" collection of essays on various topics, usually disturbing and always bizarre.
