1/2 year ago I noticed some kind of alien object on my left eyelid which looks like a white bump. Even though it's hardly visible, it keeps bugging me as it's cosmetically unattractive. I've got some sort of natural double eyelids but the left eye looks more tired / smaller than the right one (which is the 'normal' one) resulting in a certain retarded look It doesn't hurt/itch but it kind of folds my skin (guess you don't know what I mean, it's hard to explain ... ^^) Does anyone know what these bumps are ? I can't consult a doctor because they are all on vacation -.-' Just to let you know what the bump looks like : ^That my normal right eye how it used to look like aeons ago ^That's the strange thinggy .. Looks like an oily bump and its size is about 1 mm ^My left eye, the bump is under one of those skin folds (have a look at the eyelid) Did anyone else experience the same problem ? Thanks for reading, hope some of you know what that bump actually is. helpme ^^

Got the left/right eye thingy whenever I seriously need to sleep. Is your eyelid bump permanent?

Thanks to everyone. I did some more research on the internet and from my point of view that little bump is a 'milia'. Did anyone else experience the same problem ? www.dermadoctor.com/pages/newsletter56.aspI will try to do see the doctor as soon as possible (-> next year -.-') just to be on the safe side. But there's still another question, do you know why my left eye develops so many skin folds in comparison to my right eye ? It looks like my left eye is 'overpacked' and it also keeps bugging me >.< I just want my eyes to look like the same, diversity may be a good thing but symetry is still the choice regarding aesthestics

It's either a milia or a small skin tag. I've had both before on my eyelids. Skin tags are harder to get rid of though because you have to have the area frozen, then they snip them off. A milia...well, you can scratch the surface with a cauterized needle (which relieves the bump) and then a dab of alcohol is put on it. The only thing my doctor recommended to me was to not rub my eyes.

Is a mila a calcium deposit? Because that's what I thought they were.
People will hardly notice them.

I think they often come from sun exposure and subsequent damage to the skin.

Millia are the bain of my life. I was told they were due to extremely dry skin. I get them underneath my eye/right on the cheekbone and used to stand there with a needle and antiseptic cream for hours on end trying to get rid of the buggers. They do tend to pop up when I've had a weekend of going out and not bothering to cleanse & moisturize when I get in.

It is milia. Discontinue use of anything in your makeup/face wash with "Glycerin" my dermotologist said once it is there can only be removed with a blackhead extractor or facialist or dermotologist. Don't attempt it yourself, you may end up scarring it.
