Went to Thailand and Vietnam recently and all this happened to me on my first day:
1. Was showing my cousin a friend's pic on facebook whom I thought may have been in Bangkok but wasn't sure. She points at another girl and says "That's my cousin in the pic with your friend". Not only that, but they met my friend for the first time only one week before! So she calls her cousin who tells us she's having lunch with my friend that day. So my friend then gives me a call and we got to have a great catch up before she went back to Singapore for Xmas. Imagine if I had shown a different picture? What are the chances?
2. Later that night I was talking to my a friend of my cousin who mentioned she had filmed in Vietnam a bit. I then drop a name of a guy I met in July during my last trip and she has known him for about 6 years! We then gave him a call on the spot. How bizarre!
I love small world stories. Anyone else got any good ones?

hey thats cool!
I got one,
I was in Sarawak, and ate at this Cafe everyday. I got to know the owners and their friends and they took me hiking and to play badminton, drinking. Two weeks later I go to Singapore. One day I go to eat at a food court at one of the malls when who do I see sitting at the table but the owner of the cafe from Sarawak her son and some friends. We all went out for dinner that evening. A few days later I bumped into them again at an MRT station. The cafe owner said "In singapore you can't even meet people you have appointments with , and now I bump into you twice unexpectedly, imagine that."

I keep bumping into creepy people at the airport and then finding them at my destination thousands of km away. There was a chinese dude that wouldn't leave us alone, kept telling us about his adventures in msia and oz and his favourite hotel. We saw him later, true to his word at his haunts, and ducked the heck out of sight.
Already mentioned it elsewhere - doing some work for non-profit, chat with ambassador (north america, based east) who turned out to be the best friend of one of my good friends (working west). When she called me I was having dinner with mutual good friend but none of us knew we knew each other until later. It was nice. Made it feel like a family and I didn't expect that.

Small world, small HK, small EAN story. I'm friends with someone from EAN via other friends.
We used to chat briefly on pm's as we were both in HK sometime early last year (tho never met up), then he disappeared. But then I went out with a friend of mine (who also used to be on EAN years and years ago) and her friends a few months back, and he was part of the group and now we hang out regularly but never mention EAN!

Was driving back from the snow a few years ago, 3 of us in the car. Anyway on the way back we are on a country road somewhere just outside of Canberra. The road had road works going on and eventually we are stopped (as trucks needed to reverse on the road or something.) We were the second car in the queue to be stopped when one of my friends pointed at the car in front as said "that car (in front) looks similar to Blaney's (our friends) car! I wonder what he's up to now." (We hadn't seen this guy for a year or so.) We give him a call and ask him where he is and what he's up to and he says he's sitting on a country road somewhere outside of Canberra....freaky now! So we all get out of the car and say hi to him (eventually we all drive to a maccas on the way back and catch up.) But wow, freaky about being stopped in the middle of nowhere on some country road with your friend in front of you.

since i have 2 min here i ll quickly mention one:
jonathan, our dear EAN poster jonathan....well, we both used to live in s'pore...i was best friends at some point with an EA girl who went to jonathan s school too. they never met but they both ended up in Newcastle. out of sheer randomness, i asked if he knew her. well, he did, and they met ! his brother used to be my friend s coach. it was absolutely awkward to talk about jonathan with her when she visited me in paris.
also, my friend s mom in singapore was jenniferbrooke (again, EAN poster) s teacher. jennifer and isalee (EAN posters whom i met online and later on IRL) were showing me pics of their friends and talking about our social circles when we met up and turns out, the hot/cool/rebellious guy whom girls would drool after used to come to our house every other sunday and play with us in the pool. i knew him very well as a kid!
another: my friend from hong kong whom dated this guy whose room mate in the US used to go to school with me in s'pore. the two of them met in hong kong as her boyfriend invited his room mate in the US to come with him to hong kong. there, he met my friend, (his room mate s girlfriend) and upon learning they both lived in singapore at some point they started talking about their respective schools. since i had gone to both schools the two of them attended, one of them mentioned me and turns out, back in the days, i had had long conversation with my friend (girl) about that particular boy who had a thing for me at the time.
i have more but can t think of any as of right now. but a small world indeed this is ! *wise yoda say*
