This assumption that money is all that matters is a bit of a spurious argument.
If that was the case, then all good looking guys would have to also have tons of money to attract women, very often thats not the case.
The fact is depending on the situation various factors become important at different times, the initial attraction is looks (not just physical, maybe youre just peacocking), no doubt about it, to then carry it you need to demonstrate value, that you are more valuable than the next guy.
The way to demonstrate value can sometimes be money, but equally it can be personality or social status. Depends on the situation.
A good Game player knows when he needs to emphasise each one, or all as the situation requires.
