my job involves caring for two young adults with downs syndrome.they're no more aggressive than anyone else, and in this particular case are quite a bit more gentle, even the guy. it's one thing to have incorrect preconceptins, but do try to change your thinking once you've been educated.

Tap into your inner Margaret Cho. Just found out she went to the same highschool I went to. Interesting. Small world. I thought Koreans were all from LA?

To reiterate what folks have said here in defense of children/people with Down Syndrome, children with Down Syndrome are quite in demand for adoption, with waiting lists months or even years long, because of that "stereotype" of their nature- that they're pure, gentle, and lovable in spirit. One of my cousins, her son has Down Syndrome, and he also fits that stereotype. althouse.blogspot.com/2006/03/people-with-down-syndrome-are-pure-in.htmlspecialchildren.about.com/b/2006/02/06/down-syndrome-children-in-demand-for-adoption.htmwww.exploringadoptionblog.com/adoption/down_syndrome_adoption/index.htmlBack on topic, I kind of have evil thoughts about Eurasians that aren't 50/50. Nothing that bad. I just think a lot of them are ugly/look really weird. Makes me scared of what my kids will look like, but Enrique and Keanu give me hope. gosh darnit, I guess that makes me an "ugly, weird-looking" non-50/50 EA then As for what races/ethnicities are included under "your/our kind", I just assumed it was asian, white, EA, and everywhere in between those, because most of us have parts of both asian and white/euro in our background, in addition to being EA of course. I think depending on how much(or how little) exposure we've had to our asianness and/or white/europeanness, and hence how much we know and are familiar with our respective ethnicities, determines how one can more or less be able to make "racist" jokes/comments about one or both sides without getting backlash, or without it coming across as racist. For example, a cousin of mine is a stand-up comedian(as well as a writer and newcoming actress). She's my same mix/percentages, but looks more like her full asian dad, and identifies mainly as just Vietnamese/asian. Even though our moms are EA(and clearly look mixed), they're originally from Vietnam as well, so they also identify as culturally Vietnamese, albeit with more of a western/european touch in my mom's case. Anyways, during her shows, she sometimes makes Asian jokes, often adding in some story of one of our relatives in conjunction with the jokes. We have a huge extended family; and with all our individual quirks within our family, my cousin has plenty of sources for reference. And she's awesome in her shows. Even though she's very much westernized, she has plenty of the cultural familiarity to back up her quips, so I don't see any of it as racist. Not to mention, for times she's witnessed an Asian person truly being wronged or something along the lines of that, she won't hesitate to come to their defense. Whereas most non-asians or asians/EAs far removed from their asian roots, chances are they know very little to nothing about the culture, the community etc. And therefore, whatever racial remarks they'd make usually do stem from ignorance and blindly buying into all the stereotypes, making it racist.

Keanu Reeves isn't a 50/50 Eurasian?! Not that there's anything wrong with that...(Seinfeld reference)
Oh, and I also agree with TeeHee that it's utterly ridiculous to think that only mixes who are half and half are sexy beasts.

which comes to the question
Would you rather have smart ugly kids
or
Beautiful retarded kids?
Or somewhere in between?
Or would you rather have a clone of yourself?

Why the use of the word 'we'? I certainly don't identify and furthermore you'd be one of the last EAners that I'd categorise with the likes of Avsar. I interact with Down Syndrome people every week. They are very gentle naive people. We 'normal' persons appear more 'evil' IMO. When I see them, they're usually smiling or hugging people. Don't know where you got evil from. :S it's one thing to have incorrect preconceptins, but do try to change your thinking once you've been educated. Alright I think avsar gets the point, there's no need to go on about it The dude didn't actually say anything to anyone IRL, he's not a racist and he's not a Down Syndrome hater, we all just need to get off his case here (lol) Notice how no one stuck up for whites after I made racist remarks about them ;D They dish it out a lot, so it's about time they got a taste of their own medicine

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pnXj1ppsx0Uncle Ruckus doesn't have a problem with his self-hatred. In EAN, you can make prejudice statements about EA'S and Asian's but the minute you speak badly about white people, you've crossed the line! WHAT'S THE f***ING GO WITH THAT s***!?!?!?!

man you all are crazy.. Asian are the most racist people there are.. Come on. Taiwanese hates main land chinese.. Chinese hates Japanese.. Hong Kong-ese hates japanese and Indians/pakis.. the light skin Chinese hates the dark skin chinese.. Viets hate Hmongs.. Koreans hate non-Koreans (at least in K-town they do).. the ABC hates FOBs (this goes back to the Tongs in the early 1900's).. and everyone uses Filipino as maids and babysitters.
maybe "hate" is a strong word is some of the cases but dislike is fare enough.
