Catherine "Cat" LaRow She posted on here and she left us far too soon. www.funeralplan.com/obits/view.html?action=view&id=126512An incredibly talented pianist among many other things. Really don't know what to say. Just hope you can all keep her in your prayers. If you didn't know her, please find the "Cat's" in your life and don't ever let them go.

First off, to Rob and those on EAN who knew her, I offer my deepest condolences. Until I read this message, I was not aware of Cat's passing. I'm greatly saddened to learn this and still in shock, as I'm pretty sure that I know who she was. To clarify, I never got to know her, in the conventional sense, but I did get to "know" her through her piano recordings on YouTube earlier in the year. While I was searching for Samuel Feinberg Bach transcriptions for an article that I was writing on EAN to connect with the classical music lovers on the forum, I stumbled upon a terrific Feinberg transcription of a Tchaikovsky symphony performed by a pianist named Koji Attwood. I think there was a link from one of his YouTube recordings to a Bach transcription performed by Cat, which I followed. What I discovered was a very talented individual who, in spite of having only taken up the piano in earnest a few years earlier, displayed a seemingly innate ability at the keyboard. This may sound strange, but although I never really knew her, I got the sense that she was focused, sensitive and "spiritual" from her performances -- Bach, as I had mentioned in my brief essay, was a spiritual artist above all, so I can certainly understand her affinity for his works. I think that those who knew her may find some solace in her recorded legacy, which traces her development as a novice pianist: www.youtube.com/user/clarowThere are often times when I find that music is the best way to communicate what is in the soul. Knowing Cat's love of Bach on the keyboard, I just wanted to share these with whomever is interested: Bach-Siloti Prelude in B minor (fr. BWV 855a)(My words cannot do this performance justice -- just listen) Bach Chorale Prelude in F minor (fr. BWV 639): "Ich ruf' zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ"(This is from Dinu Lipatti's Final Recital at Besançon, performed while he was suffering from the effects of lymphoma, which claimed his life a short while later, at the age of 33)

^ Why would people fake someone's death?
Rest in peace, Catherine.

^^Certainly not I, but it didn't exactly burden me too much to try to act civilly and type up a short condolence message for other forum members, in the event that this person really passed away...

SAM - Koji is a poster here and knows Cat personally. If he were still lurking here I know he'd be very thankful for your condolences (tho I certainly can't speak on his behalf). I only 'met' Cat the day before she passed away and we traded just one e-mail. I knew her mostly through her music and the fact she had accomplished in 6 months what had taken me 6 years prompted me to get off my ass and start practicing .... again.... and with more conviction. An inspiring person in every sense of the word..... the kind of person that only exists in your dreams.

First, my deepest condolences. Rest in peace. Two children have lost their mother. Next, if I may appeal for a little class here and ask that 1) there be no speculation on how she met her end, and 2) that any discussion of Internet tomfoolery be taken to another thread. We have someone here who was known to other members who has passed. I hope it's not too much to ask for some sympathy for the departed and empathy for those left behind. Thank you.

I'm new here, but sorry to those who knew her. I'm a musician too, and she was born on the same day as me. Hey, and my initials are KAT too. That's good enough to like her.
