Oh the reasons why I got married? Or why people should get married? Erm, I don't get what you are asking. Ne ways... for the record I'm not trying to say people SHOULD get married, but if both want it, and both have a strong relationship and want to take the next step for whatever reason; love, security, children, religion, etc... then why not?

You were suggesting that other reasons exist. I fail to see how marriage helps with children or religion. You don't necessarily need to be married to be a father and the same applies to religion or morals. I don't think people should feel obliged to wed just because unconscious social pression to fit the norm.
Marriage is just another unnatural social construct to perpetuate mankind. It's the same reason the only type of union ever allowed in every Human civilization for millenia was Male-Female and not same-sex as they do not produce any children! Does marriage ever prevented people from cheating/divorcing/ not being in love anymore with their husband/wife ?!
But, hey, I might be the first to get married if I'm ever cornered by my girl. However, I might be even more attached to my personal freedom. I just have an anti-conformist vision of things.

Agreed Agreed Agreed
Disagree, in the past I wasn't very enthusiastic about the whole thing but at the same time I knew my wife would be the one person I'd be happy to spend the rest of my life with. I disagree that it's un-natural.
That is what I meant when I made my first post on the previous page. At first living together was rather awkward as both me and my wife have been used to living independently. The INTER-dependence was something difficult to get used to. As a result we have established our personal space to live our own lives without each other's interference. My wife does not burden me, she compliments my life. I endeavor to do the same.

I've worked extremely conscientiously until now plus my life is currently too magical to discard it in favor of a slow-paced, austere existence. We truly should rejoice as adult reponsabilities and fun have never been this compatible.
