Advertising is something that has great entertainment value--as well as driving sales--when it's done right, so let's compile a list here. While not super bowl quality material or even stuff that will be studied in business school (well not in most of them anyway), I've noticed that Durex condoms has some great ads. This one's cute, though a couple of their others may be found offensive. I'll withold for now, but I'll probably have to post them later.

^How is that a great ad? Personally I like ads that are a bit clever or creative. Or how about downright tear-jerking and ambitious? If you haven't seen the series of ads for Life insurance in Thailand, have a look at one example here on YouTube: au.youtube.com/watch?v=LR5mZqeDNtg

lees, you don't find it clever of a condom company to have such pictures on the walkthrough gates in a terminal? anyway, more (offensiveness) from Durex-- this series is pretty harmless: This one's sure to offend:

while the thai life insurance commercial is certainly moving, and excellent actually, I don't know that I see it as clever, but depressing. Clever typically is used to describe something that communicates a simple point previously not thought of or portrayed in such terms and is humorous. the second thai commercial is humorous, but obvious This one is titled Canadian Police Chase, and it is an old Midas ad: au.youtube.com/watch?v=Rd-Zr8caNJo

That second lot of Durex ads are a bit funnier. Those bums on the walkthrough gates would have been better if there were obvious sexual diseases on the bums or something. I mean, MAKE men want to put a Durex on! hahaha.
The Thai ads I never thought were clever. Just a downright tug at the heartstrings to get you to buy their product, but that doesn't stop them from making me tear up! Particularly the one with the dad and his son who's in the band.
As far as clever ads go, I quite like the ones in Australia with Merv Hughes in them. They were for some kind of fibre plus cereal or something. Any aussies here know what I'm talking about?
There's also a billboard above one of our freeways for an airline company which reads something like, "Air fares so cheap you can say, "Phuket, I'll go!"
HAHAHAH!

^ Yeah, Phucket isn't pronounced with a 'F' sound, but it's a play on the English pronounciation of the 'Ph' sound
