Just curious whether your boyfriends, girlfriend, wives, husbands know that you frequent EAN. If they do know, do they mind? If they don't know, do you you prefer to keep it a secret? And why...?
Just being nosey.
I remember my ex-girlfriend got very jealous when she found out that I was participating in EAN. We had already broken up at the time when I told her about EAN. She was upset that I would talk to strangers about my EA issues rather than share them with her.

I kind of keep it a secret from my bf. Im scared he might think Im a little crazy or something ;D
But I think I could tell him. I just think it will take some time before that happens....
My friends might also think Im a lunatic. They dont care so much about racial/cultural matters the same way as me. Maybe because they are just mono-racial/cultural.

My wife knows I am involved in various random internet activities but not this site specifically. I don't think she would really care as long as I don't post any unflattering pictures of her (though posting them here would be a lesser offense than on facebook) or divulge personal information she wouldn't want out there, which I try to avoid. I certainly don't say anything here I wouldn't say to her or my friends in person.

I don't think it's creepy nor newsworthy to be part of a forum. Do we ask permission to speak with others in public? It should only be troubling if you feel you are doing something shady. EAN doesn't qualify as shady, right? Well, I think it depends how you approach it. Very easy to hide behind a cyber-personality and say whatever you want - possibly things you wouldn't have the guts to say or divulge in person...(whether malicious or very personal).

I haven't told a soul besides one of my brothers to be honest. Not a single mate (even the Eurasian one) and definitely not my girlfriend. No particular rational reason why. Just no good reason to.

As Paddy says, our cyber personalities give us freedom to express ourselves as we wish, . .and pehaps keep us saner than we would be, as it is the one place we can be ourselves, without having to blend with whatever monoculture we may have to interact with. Crazy cyber girl, you might be crazier if you did not participate in this forum
