Pure caucasians who could pass for Eurasian

It's funny how every now and again, you see a 100% caucasian/white/European person in entertainment who comes across as part Asian, or mixed. I thought I had a very accurate EAdar, but gee, when it comes to these people, they totally fooled it. Like for instance -

Catherine Zeta Jones



It's her eyes that make her look EA (quite oriental looking), among other aspects. I find it hard to believe she's just Welsh, but that's all she says she is. There have been a lot of questions tossed around about her heritage. She's sometimes cast into 'ethnic' roles, and a lot of people assumed she must've been hispanic after Zorro. People would come up to her and start speaking in Spanish, and of course she didn't know a thing (God, I can relate to that...


Joseph Gordon-Levitt



I watched 10 Things I Hate About You when he played that schoolboy character, and instantly thought, "he's Eurasian!" but I looked him up on IMDB and I was WRONG! He's Jewish.


Justin Long



Oh my God, he looks like my brother! And with a surname 'Long', wouldn't you assume he had one Asian parent? At least? But no, he's completely white American.

She's not even mixed, yet people comment on how she looks part Asian all the time. Well, she DID play the part of the young Lana Lang, and Kruek *IS* EA....


Kevin Jonas



He is some member of some Disney pop-rock band. Just look at those eyes! And his hair! Yet he's completely Euro - with some Italian heritage from his mother's side. Would you believe it...

I was convinced for years that she had some sort of Asian heritage in her, despite knowing otherwise.

Has anyone ever seen the interior designer on tv David Bromstad. I saw an episode the other day with my mom and was like he's definitely EA. I mean he's kind of the "stereotypical" EA. But when I looked him up there was no mention of any asian heritage...

I used to think Catherine Zeta-Jones was hispanic. Never figured her for Asian. Some of the others are pretty striking though. Apparently Justin Long was once mistakenly arrested because cops thought he looked like some Asian criminal !!!

Yes, he's on the HGTV show Color Splash (he's great!). He definitely looks EA to me and on one of the episodes, his parents were featured (both Caucasians) and he mentioned that he was adopted so that could explain why there is no information. Maybe he doesn't know or care to find out.

Wow....all this time I was certain "the Mac Guy" was EA....looks identical to my brother.

Although Norkys Batista is not necessarily Caucasian, no mention has been made of her having any sort of Asian background either.....

Norkys was born in Velenzuela, she may have either Native ancestry or distant Chinese paternal ancestry. (Chinese men in the Carribean area do marry non-Chinese women or have children with non-Chinese women. (i.e. Naomi Campbell has a Chinese grandparent on her paternal side.)

Byork may not have a RECENT admixture of Asian or Inuit DNA, but she may have, which accounts for her looks. Icelanders are descended from mainly Norse people. Norway has a large population of Saami some who still have Asiatic phenotypes while the rest have intermarried/assimilated into the larger Nordic population. Therefore it is not unlikely that one of her distant Norse ancestors married another Norse person who has Saami/Asiatic ancestry and it suddenly popped up in her phenotype centuries later.
