Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club band by the Beatles.
Unfortunately, now I have no turntable to play it on.

It was either a Backstreet Boys CD or the first Spice Girls CD. ! I know I'm not the only one!

It was either What's the Story (Morning Glory) or Siamese Dream or Nirvana Unplugged. I think the former. I was fortunate enough to be the uncool kid who missed out on the Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer, Boyz to Men, etc. craze (though of course all of the grunge and brit rock bands I got into had already peaked by the time I got into them).
Of course I also had a more or less complete collection of Dick Lee tapes as well that predates all of that. It all hinges on how you define the beginning of my independent purchasing power, which is nebulous indeed.

It was either No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom (on cd) or, like betahat, What's the Story Morning Glory (on tape)...
Good times.

^ Oh yeah? My first album was Tragic Kingdom as well. I hear No Doubt's having a reunion tour. Might be interesting to hear some of their new material.

you could just think of it as.. "He turned out to be a decent actor at least. I knew that all that along!" Come to think of it, I've always seen that Dirk Diggler in him

Yeah, I kind of stopped keeping tabs on them to be honest. Bathwater and all that harajuku girl spelling banana nonsense rather turned me off. Maybe once she's back with the band it'll be a bit better!
