This thread wasn't my idea. I got this from another forum I am on. The guy on that forum claims to have not eaten ANYTHING for an amazing 5 days. Not eating as in not consuming anything with caloric value! That means no coke, pop, tea, or even coffee! I am not sure how anyone can endure this! Of course, you can't go nearly as long without water. As for me, I've only gone maybe 16 hrs without eating a single item. I don't see the point in not eating for any longer that I believe. How about you guys? What's the longest time YOU haven't eaten anything? Basically, describe your experience with the longest fast within memory! I think I can go a day or two without eating, but after that I'll succumb to my hunger! I am not going to nearly as long as 5 days without eating because I have no incentive for such a long fast.

I'm not sure if I've ever gone a day without food. Perhaps I've gone a day where I skipped breakfast and then didn't bother with lunch due to being busy, but I'm not sure if that's actually ever happened, and if it has, I can't remember exactly when that was. Having said that, I've always wanted to sign up for this: trans.worldvision.com.au/40hourfamine/about.aspx

When I had a really bad case of the flu, I didn't eat for over a day, but not quite two. Mostly because I was in bed most of the time and was nauseated.

^ Pretty much the same, when I had the flu I was just bed-ridden all day and only had water :S
Sometimes on days where I just sit doing nothing I can just live on very little such as a slice of toast and just drink lots of water

Serious case of LBM inducing a double evac situation for 1-2 days.
I had no choice.

4 days because of having food poisoning. Couldn't get anything down my throat for the first 12 hours or so. And after that, only boiled water or tea. I still went to work the first two days, I felt very dizzy but still okay-ish. And once the food poisoning was gone, I just couldn't stop eating. Anything, anywhere, anytime until I had taken in all the calories that I had been missing out for the last 4 days, haha

What kind of food caused that food poisoning?

around 36 hours while not doing much of anything. Around 50-60 hours with a baggy of trail mix, and near non-stop trekking through dense brush during the day while freezing my nuts off at night. Good times.

What kind of food caused that food poisoning? I think it were some mussels. But I still like them.

Probably not too long, definitely less than a day. I've never been in a position where I didn't/couldn't eat and I eat a lot but it's impossible for me to put on weight so I just sort of do it instinctively.

6 to 8 hour is the maximum duration for otherwise I will get stomache. I cant imagine 12 hour without food, I think I will run to hospital afterward.

Of course, I can about 12 hrs without food (that's only between dinner and breakfast) or little bit more, but that's about it...during my waking 16-18 hrs I have to eat pretty much once every 4-5 hrs.

I guess between 12-16 hours. During the past few years the days of ramadhan have gotten longer, but though it's long I can manage it. It's obviously a mental thing cuz during regular days it could be 2 hours since i have eaten and I feel like i'm starving out of my mind!

I think about 3 days with a serious flu.
That is the only way I can lose 7 lbs. in one week.
